I’ve used this BB cream since it launched, except for a brief period when I couldn’t find it anywhere. Life just wasn’t the same without it and I’m only half joking. I use this every single day that I leave my house and only opt for a ‘proper’ foundation when I’m going out at night. It’s not dirt cheap, but not hugely expensive either and a 50ml tube lasts me around 4-5 months.
It has decent coverage – light though can be built up to medium. I have fairly red cheeks thanks to my rosacea and one layer takes down the redness a notch while letting a bit of rosiness peek through. I need concealer when I’m breaking out before my period but otherwise this does the job just fine on its own. It somehow looks completely imperceptible on the skin, even under a magnifying glass, so you can just slap it on like moisturiser without a mirror.
This has a natural finish and the lasting power is absolutely insane. I have oily skin and use a sunscreen underneath it, but it doesn’t budge after I set with powder. I’ve used it while sweating buckets working outdoors in the Middle East and while I needed to blot, it never slipped around or turned cakey and weird.
The only downside is the shade range. Only 4 shades (veering very much towards medium) to serve all the skin tones of South Africa? That’s ridiculous, especially since Sorbet is a local brand and should know better. Light 01 is a bit too dark for me but since it’s light coverage I can get away with it as long as I take it down my neck.
