First of all, I’m a fan of the Estée Lauder Double Wear stay in place foundation. I purchased this new makeup when I visited the Estee Lauder counter last week. I was so excited that it was in a neat little easy to use compact with a mirror and it was so convenient with the little push button application and I was really hyped to try it out when I was told it was “more hydrating” formula, because this time of year my cheeks and around my eye area gets dry. So with that being said, I was also under the Impression this would have about the same coverage as the regular Double Wear I’m used to. I was Wrong. 👎ðŸ»ðŸ‘ŽðŸ»ðŸ‘ŽðŸ»
This is much thinner and does not give much coverage, it seems as though there’s just not much pigment in it. So I thought I’d build it up with even a third layer to get some coverage, Wrong. It’s more of a light coverage and sadly it does comes off on everything. It doesn’t seem to set well either. It gives you a bit of a wet look, not a luminous or healthy looking -moisturizing finish. It actually has almost a greasy feel on the face. The kind where you just know after you’ve applied it that it’s gonna wear right off. I tried applying it with my beauty blender as well as my flat top kabuki foundation brush the next day and then my fingers. Needless to say I won’t be repurchasing this, ever, it’s definitely not worth the money. They claim on their website that it lasts 8 hours, I find this to be false. I tried every way I could to give it the benefit of the doubt, but at best it lasts maybe three hours. Set with powder. I was touching up all day long.
If your looking to try this out just be sure and get yourself a good size sample. If your the kind of person who likes a sheerer foundation or a tinted moisturizer and really don’t need coverage then you may like this. Some people do. Also be sure and exfoliate, it tends to really hang on dry patches.
I like more of a medium up to a really full coverage, depending on where I am and what I’m doing. Sadly, This was just a waste for me. I was so excited for this because of my love for double wear stay in place. ☹ï¸

I love the EL Double Wear liquid makeup, but this seemed less mattifying with less coverage. The color was great and it had a nice consistency, but I don’t think I would buy it again. The container is really cool!
Edit Oct 4th : after using my fingers to blend this instead of a brush, this makeup looks better and lasts longer.
Edit: I still prefer the reg ESDW liquid foundation. I would love an “on the go” foundation – like this formula or the sponge type – but luck is not on my side with this.

Update 2/24/16: Repurchased in 1N2 Ecru because Sand was too yellow. Much better shade match as I’m a light NC15 with a stark white neck, so it’s hard to match me right now. But this one is great!
I’ll compare it to MAC’s cushion foundation which I didn’t like as much though shade 1 was a decent match. As far as packaging, I’m head over heels for the EL cushion not being exposed. Love it! As far as coverage, the MAC is meant to touch up versus the EL can be used as a regular foundation.
The coverage is light-to-medium and natural but not dewy. I don’t know how long this will last since it’s got less product but it’s the foundation I’ve been searching for. It’s slightly hydrating and not drying at all. It has no sunscreen or fragrance which is great for us sensitive peeps. I am quite dry but find that many foundations still need a little powder on top but not this one, yay!

Wanted to post a pic of the ingredients since I couldn’t find them online anywhere. The counter had the big foundation testers also so you can still have them make you a sample. I ended up with 1W2 Sand and am MAC NC15. I will update when I use tomorrow. HTH!
