I got this cleanser as part of the Laneige Hydration Trial pack sold at Sephora. This is my least favorite product out of the set. I have very sensitive skin and I feel the microbeads and the face wash dries my face out. It also has a very strong, perfume-like smell that I don’t enjoy.

Do NOT buy. Nothing good about this and it’s super drying. Why would you want to subject your skin to this drying concoction.

My main complaint about this product is a matter of personal taste. To me this smells like the creamy face cleansers displayed on bathroom counters in the homes of elderly aunties. While there’s nothing wrong with that smell, it connotes something that’s “not for me”; or that I’m not supposed to be using. Generally I dislike fragranced face products, but the ones that smell like perfume (as this does) really annoy me. Otherwise this cleanser was a shock for me. I got a “travel-sized” Laneige “Advanced Hydration” kit for a weekend away. I expected to use hotel facial soap, rather than cream cleanser, but the word “exfoliator” on the tube caught my eye. I ran out of my Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream a couple of months ago, and I keep forgetting to repurchase it. I knew my face could use a good scrub, so I gave this cleanser a try. Except for the smell, I think it’s a terrific product. It leaves my face squeaky clean, and after the first time I used it, my face felt so soft, I couldn’t stop touching my cheeks. This thoroughly removes sunscreen, makeup, perspiration, and everyday dirt. I smooth it on my face, and wipe it off with a wet washcloth. After I use up my small tube, I may purchase this instead of 7 Day Scrub Cream, and use it a couple times a week. The scent dissipates after rinsing off, (as long as other Laniege products aren’t used after cleansing). I have fairly oily skin, and this REALLY cleans it, so I don’t think it would be nice for dry or sensitive skin. Even with oily skin I wouldn’t use this more than 2-3x a week.
