I brought this with me on vacation and as a sunscreen it worked perfectly fine-I didn’t burn (or even tan) except for a smidge around my hairline where Im presuming I forgot to apply it high enough. On application it burned/tingled a bit for about a minute. Wasn’t a big deal but I feel its noteworthy since I use chemical sunscreens in some form or another every single day and never experience burning so if you have sensitive skin…beware. It may have been one of the fruity extracts causing the burn and not the chemicals…not sure. But my main problem with this is I found it very difficult to wear makeup over this. I tried to dab on some concealer and it just would not blend…like at all. Gross. I think because its sticky at first, although it didn’t make me oily or shiny, I actually found it had more of a matte finish. So I gave up on trying concealer or foundation over this and tried just a bit of powder. Horrendous. Just sat on top of my skin….until about an hour later when it finally all “settled” and sunk into my skin. Soooo…to sum it up I would use this again but only if I planned on not wearing makeup that day.

I love this facial sunblock! It smells like coconuts & papayas. It has a lovely swirly pattern in it plus flowers on the label. I like the pump & find 2 pumps covers my face, neck,& décolleté. It’s not sticky & I have had no issues w/breakouts from it. I can apply makeup over it directly or use it under a primer. Either way, it doesn’t ball up the way some facial lotions have on me. My oily skin doesn’t feel oilier when I use it, so yay! I use it on days when I don’t use Rimmel’s 9-in-1 BB Cream. So, maybe 3 days out of the week. I just prefer a tinted lotion like a BB Cream & have gotten spoiled by Rimmel’s excellent coverage & impressive SPF performance even in heat & humidity. The Hawaiian Tropic lotion hasn’t let me down in those conditions, either. I am fair, freckled, & a bit ruddy. This hasn’t let me burn while wearing it. I hate the $9 price tag. I see a lot of coupons, though, plus I can get a lot of use out of one bottle b/c it’s not my #1 pick. I think their claim of “12 hour hydration” is true. My pores look pretty good even w/no foundation, light coverage foundation, or powder on top. It excels in pore shrinkage, hydration w/out feeling oily or sticky, fragrance, & burn prevention.

I’m so excited to use this product during summer! I just want to quickly get the cons over with before movin’ on to the good stuff!
1) It makes my skin burn for a few seconds but does not leave it red or irritated-looking…strange right?
2)It’s heavy…but maybe I’m not used to applying sunscreen to my face; it also left my skin slightly greasy.
Pros! Now for the delicious stuff..
1)It’s so pretty to look at, both the ribbon pattern and the pump form that it comes in (sanitary and easy to travel with).
2) Smell: To me this smells like typical sunscreen, but I DO smell hints of papaya and coconut
3) Hydration: I will say that this leaves my skin very plump feeling…greasy, but still youthful and glowy
4) Price: At $7 CAD this is not too bad…the only pitfall of the price is that I can get a similar sunscreen for my body, which is double the amount, for the same price.
5)I’ve always loved the sheer glow line but have often hated the sparkles that it has left on my skin. This is completely sparkle free!
I found this product at Real Canadian Superstore in case anyone is wondering 🙂
Overall: I love this…can’t wait to use this during summer.
