This is simply amazing. I would put it in the same category as Rochas Femme, Amouage Jubilation 25, The Party in Manhattan, and Le Parfum de Therese. In other words, it is a spicy (or some say skanky) floral. It has an old fashioned quality to it but it is also very wearable and transparent at the same time. I only have a sample at the moment but I intend to get a full bottle when I can. I hope the packaging is just as beautiful as the juice.

This isn’t quite my thing, but I think this is a fantastic scent. Actually the musky base reminds me of MKK (lutens)– which shows up sweet and gentle and not animalistic on me. And there’s a prominent saffron top note, which I love. This stuff has really great lasting power (coming from someone who has a hard time getting stuff to stick around). In fact one spray goes a long way. It becomes an intense floral with a growl because it’s such a serious perfume. I’m having a hard time articulating why it isn’t quite me. Occasionally, I keep thinking it reminds me of something more common or oft copied, but for the life of me i don’t know what that is. I read the ad copy, about it being supposedly an old fashioned powdery boudoir fragrance; it smells modern (or at least w/in the last 30 years as opposed to eighty years) and not especially powdery. Spicy floral, but not exactly a floriental, or maybe it is but it doesn’t have that heavy syrupy base on badly done FO’s. Again, probably not very helpful, but this is the sort of perfume I kept expecting to give me a headache, but it did not. I wish there was a way to make the top notes last forever before it morphs. worth trying.

What a discovery. Scent was launched in 2007 by British jewellerer Theo Fennel and has been created by perfumer Christophe Laudamiel. This was love at first sniff for me and it touched my heart the same way that the discontinued L’Arte di Gucci did and indeed there are some similarities between these two fragrances.
As Theo Fennel himself states, it is totally uberfeminine. Soft spices, sensual flowers and a rich base with an animalic feel to it, which I could swear has civet although it’s not one of the listed notes (Top: Saffron / Cardamom / Lily / Rose / Orchid. Heart: Jasmine sambac / Orange flower / Cumin / Cinnamon. Base: Patchouli / Tonka bean / Labdanum / Sandalwood / Benzoin).
It is shamelessly voluptuous and you can smell that it has not been done on the cheap. Yet in spite of its richness, it remains quite radiant.
Light application is best as a little goes a long way. Lasting power is excellent.
Sold in the UK at Harrods.
