I didn’t expect to love this palette so much, but I really do. It makes an amazingly sexy, simple purple smoky eye as well as more subdued looks. All of the colors are so beautiful, but my favorite is the blackened purple with the purple shimmer. It’s an amazing color. (If anyone knows of a pencil eyeliner this color, please PM me and let me know!) I was a little peeved at how hard these palettes were to find given the amount of hype surrounding them, but I’m glad I finally got it in the end. I hope WnW keeps up their trend of bringing new, fun, affordable products to drugstores.

I was surprised to find this holiday palette (and the three others) in January 2011 at a Wallgreens in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We were stranded in 35 degree Florida (cold Florida, what?) because of a blizzard in NYC, so finding the holiday palettes wasa nice consolation prize. I bought them all, as the store was running 50% off all WnW products. They were $3.50 each.
While I like this palette, I found it the least pigmented of the Holiday collection. These shadows (apart from the brown) took a lot more work and build up.
On sight, I fell in love with the top two right colors, the pale pink and the purpley, taupe, mauve — however so far I have not been able to make them work. The middle color looked sickly on me, and was not really complimentary to the highlight color. I was very surprised as they look fantastic together in the pan. The bottom right brown is very pigmented, almost too much so — and is super soft, so you have to be careful not to grab too muchwith your brush.
I managed to create a fantastic look with the left side of the palette. It came out only slightly subtle and really lovely. In fact, I have worn it to work then out for for drinks after. I found it worked best over a primer/NYX Milk Shadow combo — so I agree with other reviewers that these colors can be a bit sheer on their own.
The bottom line is the recent Wet n Wild shadows are so dirt cheap, that I am more willing to forgive the issues with them. If I had spent high end brand prices on this, I would have been pretty irritated.
At first blush, a bit of finicky care went into this palette. The most noticeable color is the purple layer (where the frosting is applied) which still wasn’t as the BLUE and GREEN-hardened Core slabs are. While I’m not all that sensitive to darkest circles, the idea that just under 5 mil is bad for me seems like a stretch. It’s funny, and that’s not wrong.
Only caveat was that I started using this every 2 days to come back to work, but that’s not the only reason. My psoriatic lashes don’t always look great and it became very confusing to peel off from the case when I accidentally dropped them. I had to look out for things that weren’t as pronounced as they were at first.
My tests determined that I just didn’t work out well with the Mozzarella & Gum Lip pencil.
Some of the browns looked a bit thick on my back.
Almost as frustrating as this?
The front lip looks amazing (not perfect), but it should still be of use on both eyelids.
The most intense blotters I have used on my lip have been from The Impromptu Spy or the Blind Eyeliner that smells…lighter, dark brown.
This really isn’t some high resolution technique.
About 4 (4 of these were posted and are and are only part of this review), you will notice that the core in this makeup brush appeared to crease about half way down (34mm from bottom left to top right), apparently due to the PAVA blast at the bottom.
There is a couple overlapping blots, while the space left between the circles are generally drawn up (again, is not perfect), while it doesn’t seem like this brush will line up correctly on my my nose.
This Brush is NOT what I expected — rather than looking great, it’s bland, thin, and heavy.
Great massaging magic happens in this black brush, so I haven’t tried any of these bunnies yet.
As you can see, the foundation was okay. I found that I felt like it’s much lighter.

This palette was one of my two favorites of the LE Coloricon Holiday Palettes. I just love purples and this palette gives you a nice variety of purples, along with some highlight colors and a deep, rich burgundy-brown. I like the shades themselves and found that it wasn’t too hard to create a flattering look with this palette. My only complaint is that the highlight colors (white and beige) aren’t as pigmented as I would like and some of the shadows, including the highlight shades, are rather chalky. You definitely need to wear a primer under these. Also, the dark brown shade is crazy-pigmented! A little too pigmented, if you ask me…A little definitely goes a LONG way. But all in all, a palette you can create a pretty eye look with.

Update – The more I have used this product the less I like it. So much fall out!! Its like every time I blink a dusting of glitter falls off my eyes onto my face. As I speak I have no more glitter on my eyelids, only all over my cheeks. Ugh.
I have green-hazel eyes so I’m a sucker for purple shadows, and since this palette was only $4.99 I couldn’t pass it by.
The packaging seems okay, not as sturdy as NYX or other drugstore brands. Comes with the usual throw-away brush/sponge applicators.
Overall the shadows are good quality, smooth and buttery.
The white color top left corner is only really good for blending out the darker colors, but pigmented white shadows I find hard to come by, so not surprised.
The shimmery nude-peach on the top right corner, is gorgeous, I really like that and can tell I will use it a lot. Great neutral.
The two left hand purples are sheer washes of color, if you are expecting that bottom one to be vibrant and poppy you will be disappointed, but they are nice colors, still.
The mauvey-gold on the right hand side is beautiful, really nice, fantastic for hazel-green eyes.
The bottom right color was surprising. In the pan it looks like it is going to be a deep bronze, but it goes on very, very dark, almost black, super pigmented and works better for me wet as an eyeliner. Great for a smokey purple eye.
The purple eyeliner that comes with the kit as a “bonus” sucks. Its really hard and I’m not sure I will really use that at all. I like soft, smudgey pencil liners, and this is not that. Vibrant purple color though, if you don’t mind pulling at your poor eyelids to get it on there.
Overall, decent for five bucks, worth it for the shimmer nude and mauvey-gold flecked colors alone. Love those.

I finally ran into all of the WnW LE holiday products today and chose this one over all the others as they had the full selection. I literally came home, stripped off my eye makeup, and put this palette through its paces. Eyeliner is a vibrant purple that will probably only work for me in a night situation. Also a little hard but went on without too much fuss. I love the eyeshadows. I tried the upper right hand neutral and it is a beautiful wash for the whole eyelid. I put the middle right color in my crease and then a tad of the eyeliner pencil. Lovely combo with decent payoff. Fallout was a little bit of an issue but I would simply wait to do face makeup and clear up after applying. Tried both left lower(purple) and right lower (bronze) colors applied wet as eyeliners. The bronze was gorgeous and went on beautifully wet or dry. Best application as liner was wet with a little on top to set off the same color dry. The bronze/black was too dark for me as anything but liner but it is a very rich color and makes a great liner on my hazel eyes. I have not tried the pale lilac upper left yet but liked all the other colors. Brushes were meh but for $5 what do you expect. I liked this palette so much I may have to try one of the others!

Dissapointed. I have three coloricon wnw palettes (greed, lust, vanity), all of which I am very pleased with- the pigmentation is awesome, and with very few exceptions, the colors are all very usable- a hearty mix of matte and glittery ones. I got this one despite the fact that it looks very similar to lust (their even appear to be 1-2 that are the same color), the obvious difference being this one is all glittery shades. The disappiointment is the pigmentation- there is a noted quality disparity between this and my other wnw palettes. Would not repurchase, though I’m still looking for the Night Elf one..
