I received this palette as a gift – I probably never would have chosen it on my own. It looks rather unexciting: just three neutral shadows (sheer shimmery beige, rosy burnt shimmery bronze, and a matte dark brown) plus a nondescript warm pink blush. The packaging is sleek and sturdy with a mirror you will actually want to use. The brush isn’t as useless as normal palette brushes (why? why make them useless?).
These were my first LORAC shadows, so I was surprised at their quality. Reaalllllllllly smooth and buttery, and extremely easy to blend. Especially the dark brown shade, which in my experience is a hard feat to pull off. Most dark browns I have used have either compromised richness of color or blendability. I tested each shade on its own at first, then made several different combinations as I became more comfortable with the palette. You can achieve a lot more eye looks than you would think with just three shadows, work, nights out, etc. Even the light, frosty shade works on me, which is rare due to my olive coloring, because the shimmer is VERY finely milled and the undertones aren’t harsh. As others have noted, the tricky shade is the bronze one. It’s kind of more of a rust color. It’s flattering on me, and I like it a lot because it’s interesting and lends a bit of edge, but I can see how it wouldn’t look that great on everyone. It’s *very* warm, but doesn’t bring out any unsavory pink-eye tones. (The whole palette pulls warm, but a neutral warm? I look better in cool tones, but nothing in here clashes with my skin.) As for the blush, it’s nice but I wouldn’t purchase it separately. Neutral rose, high pigmentation, easily blended, fine shimmer.
I think this palette has become indispensable to me for a couple of reasons: Quality: the easy, seamless blendability of the shadows makes shades that could otherwise be kind of boring, look really pretty in a variety of ways. Versatility: the rust-bronze adds kind of a rock ‘n roll element if you use it properly. You can create a pretty bad-ass smoky eye and you can create an extremely respectable work face. You would have to work really hard to end up with the dreaded chalky neutral eye. Finely curated: with other neutral palettes (UD Naked, mostly) the options are endless and while that can be a boon, it often will end up manifesting itself in a muddy mess on your face. There’s something to be said for these smaller palettes (and NARS duos, sigh). I really feel that sometimes you should just let the experts guide you, haha.
And once again, I have over-thought makeup.

I was a little skeptical about this palette. I didn’t question the quality; I own quite a few Lorac products and they’re all very good. But I typically shy away from anything berry or pink toned, due to my red hair and sallow complexion. Peaches, rusts and terracottas are normally my go to colors. But the SA in UIta swore these colors would work for me, and though I knew he was just trying to make a sale, I fell for his schtick and bought it.
I’m glad I did!
The berry tones in the shadows are very subtle, so they do work remarkably well with my coloring. They’re warm enough to complement my complection, but not at all orange toned. The blush is a bit pinker than I’m usually comfortable with, but again, it’s a sort of nude-y, neutral pink, if that makes any sense. Again, there’s some warmth to it, although like the shadows, there is not a hint of peach or orange. It just works for some reason, I guess because it is really and truly neutral.
I will say the blush is not as easy to work with as the shadows. I am extremely fair, so I tend towards sheer blushes. This is pretty highly pigmented, which for some I’m sure would be a benefit. I had to use a very light hand and blend a lot to avoid the Sheena Easton ’80’s blush look. But I did make it work. I actually liked the blush better as a shadow. I used it as a lid color (the lighter brown is too dark for a lid color on someone as fair as I am, but the champagne is too light) and it worked very nicely.
All in all I think this a great palette. The browns are different than any I have ever tried. I’m quite often disappointed by brown shadows as they inevitably turn out too muddy, too ashy, too gray, too orange. I like the richness of these browns very much and the fact that they remain true to the pan color when blended out.
Packaging isn’t usually an issue for me, but the sleek metallic look of this compact appeals to me a lot and it seems very heavy and well made. The brush that comes with it is fairly useless for shadow placement, but it can be used for highlighting and tear duct areas, or for lining.
A little pricey, but I believe worth the money.

When I opened the package to this product, it was gorgeous in packaging. I like the pigmeneted colors and blendability of the eyeshadows. I haven’t full tried the colors but out of all of them, I’m not crazy about the reddish bronze brown color (#2). The vanilla cream eyeshadow is shimmery and is a great highlighter. The third more matte chocolate color would look great for a smokey eye effect. And the blush color works well. I’m just not sure of #2 as it may wash out my skin tone as I’m quite fair. The packaging is really gorgeous though and you get a lot of eyeshadow for the price – it’s not tiny in the pan.

Palette with one cream, one medium reddish brown and one darker bronze brown eyeshadow with a medium rose blush. staying power on these is awesome, they last 12-16 hours easy. They go on very well, dense and creamy texture for powders. Blush is a little hard for me to use as the pigmentation is so intense and I’ve very fair, but it’s a great natural blush color if you blend it out a lot. These are very pigmented and I would get again, if I ever hit pan! Highly recommended.

Released in 2009, exclusive to Sephora, this palette contains three eyeshadows and a blush and retailed for $35.
The three eyeshadows are: 1) shimmery ivory highlighter 2) a warm reddish bronzy brown and shimmery chocolate brown. As everyone knows, LORAC eyeshadows are the best in the business – silky with amazing pigment and blendability. Like Chantecaille eyeshadows, the shimmer is not glittery and the texture is powder that applies like cream. The ivory and chocolate brown shadows can be used by anyone. The middle shadow can be tricky, especially if you don’t like reddish shadows (I don’t
The blush pan is slightly larger than the e/s pans and is a very warm dark, almost coppery-rose. It is extremely pigmented so if you like subtle blush, like me, you have to apply it with a very light hand. The shimmer is refined and not sparkly and it is very pretty. The blush can work as an eyeshadow as well (in fact, I prefer it to the reddish bronzy brown)
This palette is housed in a gunmetal silver palette with good heft and a great mirror. Like more expensive products, it also has a velvet bag and a surprising useful little double ended eye brush which was especially deft at crease work and contouring as well as application. There’s a little liner end as well. The brush is actually usuable and not crap like most palette brushes.
The only cons to this product that I can think of is that the powder flies everywhere so you have to be careful when you work with the palette and that it might not work for cool toned gals. I sort of wish the middle eyeshadow was a neutral taupe; but if it were, it would be like every other cream and brown set.
Overall, this product is a great value. I swapped for mine but I wouldn’t mind paying $35 for it if I didn’t already have these colors over and pver again in my arsenal. It would be a great gift for someone just getting into makeup who doesn’t have a cream or brown set yet – just make sure they know to use a light hand to avoid overdoing it. LORAC products are so pigmented that you have to be careful with the,. I suspect it will eventually be discounted at Sephora.
