I must be honest-I gave a 4 for the price I bought it for….which was heavily discounted. Then again, I won’t pay full price for anything. (I’d much rather hunt for an affordable alternative to an expensive product and enjoy my life than spend money on Product and have a job I loathe and a life to match) Anyway-I never even use hairspray normally. But I recently went back to blonde, and then pastel ombré and I must guard my color zealously! So, when I do break down and wash/style my hair, I need hold!
Enter this wonderful smelling stuff! When used in conjunction with my Eden curling crime and Cantu Hair Custard it adds shine and a hold that gives me confidence but doesn’t feel sticky or “sprayed” at all. I have no problems washing it out and the frizz control is Real!
I am old enough that my mother had a bottle of AquaNet under her bathroom sink all through my youth. It is amazing that these two products are considered in the same category!

I should start by saying that I am a huge fan of Aveda’s Air Control hairspray. However, after years of use with no problems, it started irritating my skin. Finding a replacement for my Air Control hasn’t been easy, but this seems to be the next best thing. It is my new go-to hairspray. The smell is lovely. The hold is light & flexible. I like that it doesn’t have a cap to get lost. So far my sensitive skin is fine with this product. (knock on wood!)

I really love this hairspray. First, it smells just like the jasmine flowers that bloom in my garden in May. I am amazed at how they were able to so accurately replicate the scent. Second, it provides me good hold and is brushable, while leaving behind the extra body I need for my fine hair. I’ve had good results with holding up-dos and bangs in place all day, and haven’t had any problems washing it out (I use l’Oreal Everpure shampoo for fine, color-treated hair) I like that their container is smaller and takes up less space in my medicine cabinet (my other HG is Aveda Air Control and their can is a lot bigger). I got it on clearance at Shopper’s Drug Mart for 10$; I’m not sure I would pay the 25$ retail price tag but if I found it on sale again I would grab it in a heartbeat. It is definitely worth trying if you like the scent of jasmine flowers.

This is a flowery smelling hairspray that is a bit sticky. It made my hair feel stiff, but wasn’t the strongest hold (most recently I used this to tease my hair and flip it out. The flip out part lasted, but the teasing fell out.
On the plus side, didn’t notice any white flakes like some hairsprays cause on the second day.
Besides the smell, this is an average hairspray. Don’t pay full price–I got this at TJMaxx for $8.

Truly, I never liked hairspray until trying this. I bought this on a whim, the first time last year – since then, I’ve gone through one mini, a full-size, and turned my creature-of-habit Mother onto this ‘spray. Unfortunately, the dough is hard to cough up – but I will continue to try this unless I find a cheaper alternative (which explains the 4 stars versus 5.)
From what I can tell, it’s closer to a light-medium – it’s not an all-around hairspray that’ll keep an updo in place. It adds a decent amount of volume, but I still find the Big Sexy Hair line or TiGi Catwalk Root Boost more effective, and within a similar price range. However, this is my HG everyday hairspray – I have yet to find a product that tames flyaways, keep my bangs in place this nicely – whether I wear them straight or sideswept that day, without making the hair feel shellacked. I have fine, naturally straight, but lots of hair – this keeps my hair looking smooth through out the day. It’s also got a unobnoxious, sweet scent that isn’t too cloying or too strong, so it won’t compete with one’s fragrance.
All in all, a great product – and definately in my Top 10 list of hair stuff I will always need and keep in my arsenal.

Found this at Marshall’s for a great price. I’m tired of spending sixteen dollars for Redken hairsprays (my favorites) so I tried this.
Well, Lacca does smell good, that’s for sure. And it gives finer hair good hold, BUT the product buildup from this stuff is like nothing I have ever seen. Even if used sparingly it doesn’t want to wash out! I have tried double-lathering during a shampoo, using clarifying shampoos, etc., but am still left after rinsing with a coating on my hair that looks like bits of candle wax. And if you get caught in the rain after having used this, have fun combing your hair out after you dry off.
Use with caution!

I tripped over this at TJ Maxx last summer and found it to be the best hairspray I have used yet. I like the honeysuckle scent. It’s not chemically/stinky like most run-of the-mill hairsprays. I don’t find that it lingers very long.
All I need is light hold and this is perfect. The look is natural, not plastered. After realizing how great it worked for me, I went back and bought all they had (1 more regular-size can and 2 travel sizes). It is now April and I am only now nearing the end of the first large can. Granted, I don’t use it every day. Even at the regular price (over $20), I will be buying it again.
The only reason it gets a 4 rating is I still believe there might just be something slightly better out there that I may run across one day. lol
UPDATE: Oh, the difference a day makes…I serendipitously ran across some more of this at Marshall’s last night and was really excited! However, the container has changed so I thought I would check to see if the formula changed, too. Yup…it did. I comapared the ingredients.I tried it this morning and it is NOT the same!!! It goes on wetter and the scent is less pleasant (more chemically) than before. So bummed…thought I had found my HG hairspray.

Works well; comes out in a fine mist that holds well. The fragrance is much too sweet and too strong. I can still smell it long after using. For this reason alone I will not purchase the product again.

so, i believe that all hairspray is pretty much bad for your hair. however i bought the travel bottle of this when on vacation and without trusty aquanet and BEHOLD! i love it. it’s very light, very unsticky, and buildable. i like it for less extreme styles and use it more for definition than achieving great heights. the smell is so nice i’ve had other beautiful girls smelling my hair and asking what i was wearing! i’m definitely okay with such lovely compliments! i don’t think it’s a miracle hairspray but i am definitely in love with it. it just feels so much nicer for casual styles than heavy or sticky drugstore brands. and the smell… lovey.
