I got this one sale for 3$ so I am not that put out by this product but honestly its just the fucking worst! There is no color on my lashes although in the tube its a beautiful purple that seems like it would pop. Its drier than a dessert and every time I blink my upper and lower lashes stick together and feel disgusting.
I had much higher hopes considering that GL is so well renowned
Super disappointing..

I bought this@ The Dollar Tree in Toronto, only $3.40. I m East Indian w/ long, thin black lashes naturally. I knew thus, that this would show up more like a subtle brown on me. It’s perfect for day time office look! Since it was prob sitting on shelf forever, it’s not as wet as GL usually is just open. The consistentcy is perfection.

It’s ok. It’s a dark purple. It doesn’t show much. I use it with white eyelash primer and it comes out a little more. It’s an LE, but even if it wasn’t I am not sure I would buy it again, because it doesn’t show much.

I have pale blonde eyelashes (and not very many) and I cannot tolerate brown or black mascara in any form. Some are more irritating that others but all of them irritate my eyes. But I have found that blue and purple mascaras do not irritate. I have used Maybelline’s Royal Blue and been happy with it (goes with my blue eyes). But the Violet is invisible. I have found that if I use the Royal Blue first and then a second coat of Violet, I will get a nice deeper color. So I can use up the Violet purchase but would not buy it again. A violet that does work on its own is CK-One #200. I have bought that at Ulta and like it a lot. Also, I am not crazy about the Maybelline brush but the really like the CK-One brush. Although Maybelline mascaras are inexpensive, I’ve this a one a one Lippie price because I think most users would just toss it in the trash after using it once.

I bought this, as well as the “I See Blue” color (reviewed separately). I only use it on my bottom lashes because I hate the GL brush (same brush as they’ve had for eternity) & runny formula (again, same formula for ages). So I used my regular black mascara on my top lashes, & this on my bottom lashes. I have dark brown/black lashes & this does not show up at all, even when I used Urban Decay’s Eyelash Primer Potion underneath (it’s white, so I thought it would make the purple show up, & maybe even help get some volume, but no such luck. The “I See Blue” shade actually shows up on my lashes without using any primer).
I was so disappointed because this is a really pretty bright (but not neon bright) purple shade in the tube.
Don’t look for this to add any volume or length either, because it doesn’t.
The “I See Blue” is a lot better than this shade, because at least you can see the pop of color on your lashes (but again, don’t look for it to add length or volume either). This does absolutely nothing. Thankfully it was only $4.50. I wish I’d bought it at CVS or Ulta instead of Target, so I could have at least returned it! Target has a crappy return policy in general (IMO). I know that’s off topic, but just think of it as a bit of helpful info & don’t buy makeup there unless it’s something you have already used in the past & know you will keep it because once you open it, they will not take it back.
