A good winter color. I’m not usually a fan of pearl finishes but the same color in matte or creme would look too harsh on me. The result is quite flattering on medium skin. I would have passed it if it were not for the travel exclusive Revlon Super Lustrous lip cube, but it’s one from the set I wear most.

This is a perfect formula, usu I don’t like revlon pearl formulas but this is a soft pearly purple, makes lips look plump not gritty/dry/glittery, it is extremely pretty and goes well with soft turquoise or green eyeshadows (which are my favourite kind).

Revlon has some great lipsticks. I go back and forth with the packaging because it is a little boring and old fashioned. On the other hand the round cylinder shape and flat top and bottom make it very easy to store. I store these lipsticks upside down because the name of the color is on the bottom in a color coded sticker. Very convenient. Revlon has these lipsticks in four types of finishes: Crème, Pearl, Shine, and Matte. Iced Amethyst is a pear finish in the plum family. I have several Pearl finish lipsticks from this line and they are suppose to be the sheen/shimmer/ frosty lipsticks. The pearl finish lipsticks all vary on their degree of frostiness from non-existent to super frosty. I don’t like frosty or shimmer lipsticks but I had purchased Cherry Blossom (really should be crème had NO frost :)), Rose and shine (minimal frost) and Plumlicious (minimal frost). I figured since these lipsticks had little to no frost, Iced Amethyst would too and I wanted as many plum or mauve shades as I could get. I bought Iced Amethyst and while it is a beautiful color. It is way too frosty. I wish this color existed in the crème finish. I was very disappointed. This is a preference though and the lipstick itself should not be overlooked. It had decent staying power and didn’t dry or stain my lips. It did however leave my lips looking kind of glittery. Plenty of people love this frosty type finish and this would be a good lipstick.

This lipstick is a wonderful pinkish-purple color, for those times you feel like rocking a bold lip. I also sometimes apply just a tiny amount with some lip balm for a subtle lip stain. It has a metallic luster and is more cool-toned than warm toned. For the price, it is definitely worth it! Especially because it isn’t an every-day lipstick. This lipstick does not have good lasting power, but for $3.50 you can’t really expect that it will stay on all day! I suspect that blotting/setting this lipstick with powder might help. The depth of color and the perfect amount of metallic sparkle make this lipstick appear to be of higher quality!

I was looking for a dupe of MAC Budding Lust, a special edition color. This is just a bit to pink of a plum, I like more purple.

I love this shade. I also have MAC Riveting Rose and this what I wish RR was. It’s a tad bit lighter but it makes a big difference. The MAC one is a bit creamier but this one isn’t bad for a drugstore lippie. I’d buy this again even if I still have Riveting Rose left.

Lovely color, and, as mentioned below, very creamy and nice texture – forgiving in the winter if lips get dry. It’s a nice do-able purple, too – even for my pale olive skin, which is sometimes tricky to match. What takes this lipstick to a five, though, is that it BUILDS so beautifully. You can either have a purply shimmery glaze, or a dramatic and rich shiny violet. My go-to when I can’t think what else to wear.

This was one of the lipsticks I wore at 14. Im 30 now, and It still pretty. I would buy this again. I remember it being very super creamy, and very “iced” purple, but it is kinda different now.
