Although $25 isn’t cheap, this is less expensive than similar swivel-up brow pencils from Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown, and Hourglass. Mally’s tip is not angled, but the pencil side has the same kind of texture.
It comes in three colors. I bought Taupe, the lightest of the three, which is a great neutral shade for blondes but even some redheads will be able to wear it. It’s not ashy.
The neat thing about this pencil is it comes with a sponge applicator on the other end and a built-in complementary color powder to apply after you’ve used the pencil. This really helps keep the brow color from fading.
Many other brands have a similar waxy pencil but if you want to add powder to lock it down, you have to buy a separate product such as an eyeshadow in the same color to achieve the same effect you get with this.
Ideal for travel. No sharpening because it’s a retractable pencil.
Taupe is a great color for me. The pencil is thicker than MAC Fling, but the tip is still thin enough to apply in feathery strokes or give you a precise line.
You have some leeway in how dark you want this. You can press lightly as I did, or with a heavier hand, and experiment with how much powder to put on top. If you get it too dark, it’s easy to soften with your fingertip or a brush. It lasts and lasts.
