It’s black but has some glow in it. The applicator brush is not good and use it is quite a challenge, too thin and frayed up in awkward directions.
I love the color and the way it looks when I’m using it, but is not enough to buy Lime Crime’s eyeliner again.

I bought this 3+ months ago. I like the brush and the packaging is compact with a good amount of product. My issue with this product is that it gets a bit dry on the skin as well as in the packaging. It is totally dry now and I have to get a different one because of the issues concerning limecrimes integrity.

Cute packaging, but unfortunately that’s the only good thing I can say about this product. The applicator brush is awful and frayed up in different directions on top of being awkward to hold. Looks nice when u first put it on but after a few hours it starts to look cracked and fades off. Overall I’m pretty disappointed and I don’t think I’ll be purchasing again.

Cute packaging and good product but the applicator is terrible and there isn’t much product for the price.

Pros:
This eyeliner is true to its guarantee of being extremely black. You need only one maybe two strokes to get a strong, jet black. Which is good when you are trying to do bold cat eye liner. Really good.
Cons:
It isn’t water proof (which isn’t great when using eyeliner in my opinion). You sorta need that water proof factor around eye moisture.
The bottle is tiny and there is not much product
The brush is TERRIBLE. I have been doing immaculate eye liner every day for years and years (over 10 now) and the first day i used this flimsy piece of crap brush my lines were wonky and awful. You cant get a firm grip on this brush. Again, the brush is terrible.
So all in all, formula is ok/good but the application and quantity is lacking. Probably wont buy again for that reason.

Since learning about some of the alleged controversy surrounding Doe Deere and Lime Crime, I’ve been hesitant about both buying their products and reviewing them. Admittedly I’m a diehard fan of their eyelid primer – I use it daily and it’s one of the only eyelid primers that works for me, so whilst I might shake my head at some of their business practices, I keep sheepishly returning. It was on one of these occasions that I decided to try out this eyeliner, since I can never seem to find an eyeliner with good staying power and a decent brush tip (I unequivocally hate felt-tip eyeliners).
When I first got this product, I was totally put off by its size – about the length of the average tube of lipstick. Though it’s pretty inexpensive by most counts, US$13.99 only gets you a teeny-tiny 1.3ml, making it one of the smallest liquid eyeliners I’ve ever seen. I found this surprising because Lime Crime’s eyelid primer lasts me for such a long time, and yet with daily use this product lasted a little over a month.
Over the eyelid primer, staying power is excellent. The glossy finish isn’t something I would normally go for, but it’s not really that noticeable. The brush tip is perfect for creating those beautiful wing-tips and even as I was coming to the end of the bottle I considered filling it with a different product to keep using the brush. However before I knew it, the bottle was empty and I was browsing online to try and find a local Aussie retailer, who were unfortunately all temporarily out of stock.
In the end I thought I’d buy a hasty cheap replacement product until I could order another Lime Crime eyeliner, and purchased Maybelline’s Hyper Glossy Liquid Eyeliner. I couldn’t quite believe my luck – it was almost exactly the same. It wasn’t quite as pigmented, but the brush and the overall look are pretty much indistinguishable. You also get a slightly more generous 3mls for around the same price.
I would definitely buy Lime Crime’s eyeliner again if they were to increase the size of the currently travel-sized product, but until then, I’m sticking with my incredibly lucky Maybelline purchase.
