   I would give this 3.5 lippies I I could. Its a lovely bright bronzy apricot pink on me, its the blush I use to create a bronzed look paired with a matte bronzer. I don’t use it in winter as it seems too warm toned to look natural or appropriate without a bit of a tan or at least at a time of year when I could have a tan. It looks very natural and glowy, not at all powdery as its a rather hard textured blush but blends very nicely on the skin. My main criticisms of this are that its not very long lasting on my skin, I don’t know where it goes but it fades so quickly that if I wore it all day without reapplying i’d spend half the day with only a slight nude flush on my cheeks and nothing much there by bedtime. I don’t have this problem with other blushes I have where they might fade a bit towards the end of the day but are at least still there! I wouldn’t buy this again because I have the Presage cream blush which is pretty much the same colour on me but doesn’t fade. Frivole still has a place in my collection as I usually find a powder blush quicker and easier.

   For reference I am about nc15-20 Nars gobi/finland and Clarins sand when I have a tan.

   This looks like a scarily bright coral-tangerine in the pan, but it’s a lovely peach with some very slight orange undertones on my cheeks. It’s smooth and pigmented and would work on most skintones. So why did I only give this 3 out of 5? For one thing, it’s nearly identical to NARS Gilda, which I own. Gilda is maybe a half shade more coral/pink in the pan but applies virtually the same as Frivole (on me, anyway). Secondly, while it’s very pretty, it’s not a particularly unique shade as far as peach shades go. It’s a basic peach, so I guess if you literally own zero peachy blushes this would be of use, but otherwise it’s not a must-have. I’ll use it up but wouldn’t re-purchase.

   Surprisingly this is such a lovely color. Frivole looks like a deep orange with a slight pink to give an apricot color. In the packaging, it looks like a matte blush, but there is some very, very subtle shimmer, so it’s not totally matte. This blush is very pigmented and the pop of color looks quite natural on tan/brown complexions (NC45 for reference). The powder is soft and not chalky. It doesn’t blend as smoothly as NARS, but the texture of the powder is a very good grade.

   Due to the price, when this pan becomes empty, I hope to find close dupe.

   I didn’t think I’d like this blush as much as I do, but I reach for it almost every time I use blush. I originally bought Frivole because I wanted a more pigmented and long lasting version of MAC Peaches, and this definitely ticks those boxes and more. On my NC30 skin, Frivole shows up as a really pretty, brightening apricot color with a hint of pink. What I love most about this blush is how natural it looks. The combination of its warm coloring and soft texture makes Frivole literally melt into my skin, and it always makes me look like I’m naturally blushing rather than wearing makeup. I think this would be a great blush for anyone with warm undertones, especially those with a medium or deeper complexion.

   Frivole is a pretty blush. It’s peach with the slightest hint of pink. The pigmentation is fine, so is the wear time. Let’s face it, with this blush you are paying for the name. I don’t think I will be buying anymore Chanel blushes. The scent is lovely, but the blushes are too expensive for my budget. Luckily, you can find great blushes for half the price.

   I would describe this as a clear, somewhat bright orange apricot. I had been looking for a color similar to MAC Peaches (which I love) for a long time, and though this isn’t as close to Peaches as I first thought, it shares the same end of the color spectrum and has no noticeable pink undertones. MAC Peaches is more muted and has slightly more orange than Frivole. Neither blush, however, looks (to me) as if it has any pink. For comparison, Chanel Malice has some discernible pink and is more of a coral than Frivole.
   Because of the sheer and buildable formula of Chanel JC blushes, this color will work on a variety of skin tones, even paler ones. (though it might not work on cooler undertones). Despite its brightness in the pan, Frivole easily and seamlessly blends to look natural on my NC 10-15 skin. The texture is characteristic of JC blushes, appearing matte in the container and on the skin but having an almost invisible sheen up close, just enough to give dimension but not enough to reflect light or have any shimmer at all.
   I love these Chanel blushes and occasionally splurge on them, but they cost $43 US, and so I gave Frivole a 4, only because I think no blush should really be that expensive. Even though the quality is superior, I think a price that high is just because of the legendary brand name.
   If this blush does strike your fancy but you don’t want to spend so much, it is similar, as I mentioned, to MAC Peaches, which is gorgeous. The only reason I looked for a duplicate color is because the Sheertone blushes break me out. 🙁 I also noticed that Laura Mercier’s Lush Nectarine has a similar effect but like many warm colors, has some recognizable pink undertones to it.

   This is a beautiful apricot blush that looks really great on my NC30 skin. It came out with the Chanel Spring 2013 collection and I am writing this review after a month of continuous use. Mine is the original baked formulation that has an inherent glow and goes on sheer as the pigmentation is not strong but it is buildable. It stays on all day without budging or fading and keeps the makeup looking really fresh. HOWEVER… After a month of use I found that the product hardened up and I can’t pick up any colour with neither my brushes nor my finger. The only brush that picks up any product is the one that it comes with. It happened with cheap Bourjois blushes before and because you pay a fraction of what you pay for chanel, you don’t really mind, toss it away and get a new one. However when I pay so much for a premium product, I expect it to perform to justify its cost.
