Oh darn. I used to love this sunscreen, when it was oil-free. Just checked the ingredients when I was going to buy, and now it has been reformulated with mineral oil. So can’t use it as any oil makes me break out. Darn darn darn. Why can’t companies leave well enough alone?

I got a set of 3 for $30 through ShopHQ.com, so the price really wasn’t bad. They come in a darker brown plastic bottle with a very convenient pump. I would normally go for spf of at least 30, but I was intrigued by the glass beads concept and the reasonable price. This is a white lotion that turned clear upon application. It was comfortable to wear but felt a bit too moisturizing/heavy for hot and humid summer days. I think I’ll enjoy using this during cooler months.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, this hasn’t worked during the winter months. Makes me break out so I had to stop using. Bummer…

I can see why some ppl with darker skin tone wouldn’t like it. But for me it’s a touchdown. No film, no grease all day with full SPF20 protection. Love it.

I almost didn’t try this. I hate sunscreen on my face, I’ve tried everything and really dislike the consistency of most sunscreens on my face. (I don’t wear foundation, for the same reason.) However this came in a kit, and although I was skeptical of the “UV pearls” idea, it was intriguing enough to try. Basically, the marketing pitch is that the active ingredients are encapsulated in tiny “glass” beads that sit on top of the skin and do their stuff their, thus don’t get into or clog pores, or get otherwise absorbed by the skin.
Well, I was wrong. This is now the sunscreen of choice for my face! I’ve used this for a month, every day, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever found.
When applied, it is kind of whitish, but that fades down in less than 2 minutes to a clear, wonderful finish–not dry, not shiny, just a nice matte glow. It actually makes bare skin look better, and it feels clean and natural. I applied alot, because I was very close to the equator, where the sun is really strong. Never burned or tanned, didn’t clog pores or cause breakouts.
Packaging could be better– I don’t mind the squeeze bottle, but I’d prefer a cap that provides more control of amount when dispensing. But it is cheap for such an excellent facial sunscreen, $10 for 4 oz. I used a big dollop every day for a month, and I used less than 1 oz! Will definitely repurchase, when I run out.
