I was unimpressed with this polish. The base of the polish is light pink cream, nearly beige. It has 2 sizes of black speckles running through it. It resembles Cadburys mini Easter eggs. I think my problem with it is that it just looks too plain. The base colour looks similar to my skin tone. Having said that, the quality is amazing, as is the case with all Illamasqua polishes I own; it applies and lasts well. Taking it off was difficult, but I expect that with glitter polishes. Might try it again at Easter.

Scarce is one of the newer “speckled” nail polishes out on the market this season. I was not initially all that attracted to the speckled trend, which consists of a lighter, almost pastel polish shot through with bits of black glitter, but the quality and unique look of shades like Scarce have certainly changed my mind. Scarce is a slightly milky neutral pink with the perfect amount of black glitter, which means not as much glitter as a traditional glitter polish, but definitely enough to be easily noticed. The formula is simply outstanding; it is hardwearing and the perfect thickness for flawless application. Scarce is also nearly opaque with just one coat, but I prefer the look of two. Given that I have olive medium-tan skin, I would not normally reach for a pink of this shade but somehow it’s neutral enough to work. I love this polish so much that I’ve ordered the light blue and lilac versions, and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase Scarce again. This is my first Illamasqua polish, and as you can see it won’t be my last.
