Really good black and stays black rather than fading to a grey/black like some products. The tube is neat and the cap stays on well even if rattling in a handbag. That however seems to be the only positives I could find. I was sold this on the promise that it has great staying power but this is only true if you do a thin line. A thick line will smudge and i found it does need a reapplication near the lashes after a few hours if only doing a thin line as it cracked. I’m not a fan of the felt tip application method, it seems to dry up near the very top so fine lines or flicks are not defined or refined. I suspect the felt tips are bought out to make us buy more often as they don’t last long. In summary not a great execution and very expensive for what it is…I won’t be buying again.

PROS: The application with this pen is so easy. I am a contact lens wearer with allergies, so I frequently have temptations to rub my eyes and disturb what I’ve painstaking applied. I love the convenience of this – just throw in my purse and have ready for touch-ups.
CONS: I still rate the gel liners higher, primarily for the range of colors, but they also stay better than this. It can smudge.

The Ink Liner in Really Black was launched as part of the Pre-Spring 2012 Neons & Nudes Coillection, I uploaded the stock photo. What a great liner. For the first time ever I have been able to create the perfect line with a liquid liner. First. time. ever. I am floored. Staying power is just as perfect as the Bobbi Brown Gel Liners, stays put all day. Needless to say, this Limited Edition Ink Liner should be a permanent part of the line and also be made available in more colors. I would especially like it in navy! Retails for $24.

Ms. Brown did it again…another fanstastic product. If you’re a fan of BB Long Wear Gel Eyeliner, you will love this. It goes on easy and looks beautiful. It will stay on until you remove it. It comes off easy with eye make up remover. This is a limited edition, so I’m a little nervous this won’t be around for long. Hopefully, it was be permanent and Bobbi will add other colors…

I had originally seen this for pre-order on the NM website and went ahead and ordered, not having much faith in the shelf-life of pens but being fairly certain that with BB I may have a shot. (My Chante and Hourglass were great initially but then dried out and went on splotchy). Was in my local Macy’s and tried it out and fell in love and picked up another even though I’d already pre-ordered from NM (can never get enough black eyeliner). This is a flexible felt tip, larger than the Hourglass Script (the teeny one, not the fatter Calligraphy). More flexible and has more give under pressure, not as stiff as Chante and Hourglass, where I have to milk the pen on my hand to get the ink to flow. Creates the slim line I like from a brush-style ink well liquid without being as heavy as a liquid formula (pen formulas always wear lighter, and IMHO look more flattering). The formula is a tad more opaque than the Chante and Hourglass, but not as vinyl thick as my KvD tattoo liner. Applies easily (even “grabbed” my skin though it was oily and no primer), creates a very thin line. True black, not too harsh, not a watery gray. Wears well though some smudging at the outer corners. Crisp and clean without being too sharp or heavy. Wears well, just about water/oil resistant without the thick, blotchy wear of such formulas.
Hope she makes this a permanent part of her collection! This is such a gem!
