I have tried about 30 John Masters products, 8 of which I currently use. The Rose and Aloe Toning Mist is unfortunately one of those that didn’t work for me at all. It left a sticky film on my face that was very uncomfortable. I later tried using it as a refreshing spray for my body on hot days, but the stickiness was just unbearable. I have stopped using it entirely and now I don’t know what to do with the barely-used bottle.

Big fail. Caused lumpy clogged pores after a week’s use. My own fault though – I know better than to buy a product laden with EOs.

I tried this one first and then moved onto the lavender hydrating mist, which I prefer. This one seemed to unsettle my skin a bit, not in a major way, but I got a bit of blotchy redness that would then fade. The lavender mist on the other hand is totally soothing and apparently lavender has natural anti-inflammatory properties, so if your skin is highly sensitive/reactive, I would suggest that one.

I bought this product to use it instead of moisturizer because i have very sensitive skin and i really dont like using heavy or thick moisturizers.
The ingredient list is very good with aloe vera juice at the first place. It does not contain any iritating or harmful ingredients 🙂
The scent is actually very light, natural and fresh rose scent, slightly sweet and it doesnt linger at all.
My experience with this product is good but its definately too expensive for what you get.For that price i could buy 1L aloe vera juice and rosewater and mix it together wich would make about 1.2L of this toner.
Altough its a good product I wont buy it again.

After the first use, I was deeply, deeply suspicious. Although it was almost a little sticky when i patted it in, it dried so incredibly smoothly and evenly that it felt like an amazing film over my skin. This got me suspicious as I imagined this is what silicones do and feel like in hair products. But looking at the ingredients posted, I am in awe cos the effect is like everything silicones do for hair but on the face and with happy ingredients. The smell was not an issue for me and it will now join ranks with my Origins Perfect World toner. Btw, I look to toners to hydrate and soften, not to shrink pores or mattify.

Oh this is like a cool dip in a pool on a hot, aggrivating day. Aloe is the first ingredient and it truly cools, hydrates and refreshes. I’ve used this before a workout, after to cool and rehydrate skin that’s been sucked dry of hydration during the cold. Works to tweak a program that’s having you go without a moisturizer at night but you still need hydration. I think I really have my bases covered with oils to moisturize, but hydration is something I definitely lack. Most “hydrators” have too much other gunk for me to use and still feel like my skin is breathing. So typically I go without and try to work on the hydration aspect internally (more water, fruits, veggies, watching caffeine). But this legitimately WORKS to add hydration (any point during the day), it imparts a dewy glow and calms my skin. I have angry skin. That’s the best way to describe it. Angry. Flares and breaks out, gets red and inflammed, dries out at a moments notice and then rebounds with oil. But this is a fantastic neutralizer for my angry, reactive skin. I recommend for any skin type. The $20 price tag took me back for a second, but absolutely worth every penny. Changes my mind re: “toners” which I typically assumed to be too drying or leave my skin feeling sticky. NOT this. Hydrates, softens, calms. Would absolutely repurchase.

This spray on toner is so fragrant, it’s hard to get past the smell to even consider the benefits it may have for your skin. The scent may be natural, but it is completely overwhelming. So much so I had to wash it off because it was all I could smell. This is coming from someone who has used both Biotherm, Estee Lauder and Lancome over the years so I can handle a fairly heavily scented product. But not this. Just beware if you are sensitive to smells. The product itself seemed lightly hydrating and made my skin feel soft. However, I felt like I sprayed my face with a rose fragranced room deodorizer or something it was so strong. This is best used only if you can give it a test drive first to be sure you can handle the pungent aroma of rose. The amber glass spray bottle was lovely though.
