I bought the Sigma glove a while ago, maybe over a year ago but forgot to write a review. I bought the glove in the blue color. I bought this glove before any of the newer Sigma cleaning gloves/mat came out. In general, I find this glove cleans very well and I like the squeezing out the water part of the glove (thumb area). It actually gets the majority of the water out better than by hand. However, these gloves are ridiculously expensive. I bought the bullet because I wanted to use something else rather than my hands as at times I feel like I couldn’t get the soap out with my palms. The textures on the glove make cleaning brushes more simple. As for the rinse part, I find that just swishing on the rinse area doesn’t get inside the brush. What I do is create a little pool with my thumb and the glove so I can dip my brushes in and basically “soak” out the soap in the brush. I then sort of press it in and out to get the soap out that’s stuck inside at the top of the brush where the ferrule is. I have had times when the brush is dry but there’s still little dried soap duds at the bottom of the brush, so clearly, not all the soap came out. You don’t necessarily need the brush to create the little ‘pool’ but since I’m already wearing it, that’s what I do. I do it for both face and eye brushes. Another thing I noted with my glove, is that the top of the glove and a little of the eye washing side got a bit discolored. I’m not sure from what but the plastic sort of changed color. Overall, I think this is a good cleansing tool but would not repurchase as Sigma has come out with other designs I’d prefer to have.

I would go out & buy another of these if I ever lost this. I love this for washing all of my brushes! I used to hate getting my hands wet & this is my go to. I just use dawn & the glove to deep clean my brushes!

So I was debating back and forth whether it was worth buying this, after seeing lot of bloggers and MUAs rave about it. I ordered it from BeautyBcosmetics for £34.95. I agree that it cleans your brushes AMAZINGLY. However I don’t see any difference to cleaning my brushes by hand? My hand gives the same results. If I had the chance to buy it again I probably wouldn’t…I can’t justify the price that I paid, could have spent that on more makeup! I did not see a difference in cleaning time either. I do love the packaging though.

This glove helps to clean makeup brushes very well. I had problems with some of my brushes that is difficult to clean, this makes me able to clean my brushes faster and thoroughly. It is very expensive for just a glove, but when i see how clean my brushes after using it, im happy that i got it.

This certainly cleans my brushes much better than if I were to just do it with my hands. I honestly don’t understand why Sigma is charging up the ying yang for this fancy oven mit but I paid it nonetheless. It is a unique idea that I haven’t seen produced anywhere else so I justified the price and bit the bullet. I am very happy with this. I’ve only used it a few times but every time I’ve used it , it definitely cleans them very thoroughly especially my foundation brushes that are very dense and get caked with make up. I use my Purity cleanser from Philosophy to clean my brushes (not make up brush shampoo) just because I used to work at Sephora and that’s what we used to clean the brushes. This also cuts my cleaning time in half and the bright color of the cleaning glove definitely helps me see if all the make up and soap is actually out of my brushes. I definitely recommend this to make up junkies with an ass load of brushes who want them sanitary and would prefer for them to keep their shape after multiple washes. 😉

Like so many others, I saw the many YouTube videos and thought this was something I could not live without, so I purchased direct through Sigma. I will say that yes this little mitt works great at deep cleaning my brushes, so no complaint there. I read another review here on MUA from a make-up artist that purchased a dog grooming glove and was using it in the same manner. I purchased one on my next trip to Petsmart and I have to tell you that I like the pet groomer better! The back of the glove is mesh with a Velcro strap at the wrist to secure the glove, so it doesn’t slip and slide and with the mesh backing it dries fast and very thoroughly on the inside if the glove as well. The texture knobs are of varying sizes, which works great with different brush sizes. Best of all the grooming glove was a whopping $12 compared to the $30+ I paid for the Sigma glove.
Why the 4 lippie review? I cannot fault the glove itself, it does all it claims to do so I only knocked one lippie due to the price. I only wish that I had read other reviews before purchasing so that I could find quality dupes to achieve the same results much cheaper. By writing this, I hope that others can learn from my mistake.

My mother owns this, and I have used it before to clean my brushes, and it is great!
But mother of chicken nuggets is this thing expensive….oh my….
So if you don’t want to spend $35 on this crazy plastic oven mitt, why don’t you just head over to your friendly neighborhood Wal~Mart and pick up a silicon pot holder, (one with grooves and ridges on them, I got one with medium sized lines throughout) and use that instead. It works EXACTLY THE SAME PEOPLE. I kid you not, it works just the same, and you don’t have to go pay a small fortune for that crazy contraption. As soon as I explained to my mom that my pot holder worked the same as her psychedelic fushia oven mitt, she was instantly remorseful for wasting all that money.
Keep in mind that you probably won’t be able to find a silicon pot holder with all these different textures on them, but when I used my moms glove, I found that the “refine” and “rinse” were basically useless, and the “eyes” side I didn’t even use, since I can get a thorough clean with just my hands in just a few seconds. My pot holder with the lines throughout works great for my F80 and F88 to get all the makeup out (I do wash my brushes at least once a week though) it might not be as fancy, but it does cut my washing time in half. It gets a thorough clean, even if I don’t have different textures to deal with. Also when I use the glove, I don’t even use it to reshape the brush, I always used my fingers, because it worked better.
The glove itself is nice to own I suppose, but I find it unnecessary. Especially if you just do makeup on yourself and only have 5-10 brushes to clean. If you are a makeup artist and clean many brushes at once, I can see how this would be really helpful for you. But as for me, I just have 10 face brushes total, so I am satisfied with the pot holder, haha.
So if you think this glove would be useful in your life, and you have to money, go ahead and pick up this crazy oven mitt. But if you’re just plain Jane like myself, only doing your own makeup, and looking at this makes you suffer from a bit of sticker shock, just get yourself a pot holder girl. Your brushes will be clean, your time will be saved, and your hands won’t be prune-y.

I clean my brushes frequently because I have acne prone skin and dirty brushes can contribute to my break outs. This glove really helps remove any stubborn make up residue that my prior cleanings missed. Some of my brushes that I thought were permanently stained appear to much cleaner after using the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaing Glove. The wash and rinse portions of the glove are great but the refine doesn’t do very much to remove access moisture or to reshape the brush. After going through the entire ritual with each brush, I still blotted my brush with a paper towel to help remove any access water and used my fingers to reshape the brush. Even though this is quite an expensive tool, I consider this a great investment considering that many of my brushes cost much more than this glove.

This little gem is amazing. I actually didn’t buy one but rather I was sent a small “sample size” glove as a free gift from Sigma. Initially, I thought it was a worthy concept but totally something I could live without. After I finally got around to using this glove, I’m amazed at how effectively and quickly it cleaned my brushes. Normally, I would clean my brushes with regular anti-bacterial hand soap and my hand but this product really expedites the sometimes annoyingly long process of cleansing brushes and removing all the build-up. I just washed my brushes today, all 15 of them, and it took me no more than 10 minutes when normally it would take me 15-20 minutes. As of right now, I only have the mini size but I would totally be willing to spend the $35 to buy a full-sized glove.
