Oh man this was one of my favorite blushes of 2014; because it gave my NC10 (very pale) skin a doll-look effect. Sex Fantasy is a very pale pink with a lilac undertone. The pigmentation is above average. What makes it special is both the pale shade and the undertone. This blush was just so flattering on me, despite the fact my skin has yellow undertones. I can not pull off the blue undertones that most light pink blushes have, so that’s what set Sex Fantasy apart from the rest for me.
I am happy to report Sex Fantasy is a matte shade! Shimmer is a major deal breaker for me because it highlights my bad skin/big pores. I suppose I will have to resort back to Sex Appeal if i want a blush from Nars (pale warm pink). However I wish NARS would bring this shade back. Bobbi Brown makes a dupe blush called Pastel Pink and it’s (currently) part of her main line. It’s also a light pink with a strong purple/lilac undertone. So if you missed out on Sex Fantasy, give the Bobbi Brown option a chance. I’ve already bought a back up. 🙂

This blush is a very natural looking blush which applies very nicely! Sometimes I find blushes can be very harsh on the skin and have a difficult time blending or looking natural, but I never have this issue with nars product! This blush is a very good everyday colour to wear! The only downside is it is very subtle colour! I have red undertones so I don’t need a dark blush, but if you are looking for something with a lot of pigment I would not suggest this for you!

I love love love the color! A shy pale pink. I know it’s kind of frustrating to put on layers in order for the colour to show up in my nc25-30 skin. But it’s just so pretty!!!!!

This is probably my favorite powder blush of all time. It’s absolutely perfect on my NW10 (winter) to N17(fake tan or summer) skin, all year round, applied in layers or in one sheer sweep. The color is true-to-pan on me, and surprisingly it does not make me look as overly cool-toned as I thought it would — in fact, it tones down the pinkness of my skin. Instead of the chalky look you’d expect from this color family, it glides on smooth and sheer. In fact, the texture is worlds better than my other NARS blushes, which have now been relegated to the back of the blush drawer in favor of this one. Heck, this blush might even negate my need for a drawer full of (partially-used and then forgotten) blushes at all.

NARS describes Sex Fantasy as a “cherry blossom” pink, and I would say that’s dead on. It’s a pale, matte, very cool pink that borders on lavender and looks great on my NC15-20 skin. I love layering Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose shimmerbrick on top if I want some sparkle and Pink Gold Rich Color gloss on lips for a monochromatic yet fresh look. However, I do think this works best on fair skin – while pigmented, it’s still pale and may look ashy or not show up at all on medium/dark skins.

I’m NC25 and I have to literally swirl and swirl my brush in this blush in order to get any color pay off.
I could live with that, but it goes on so, so patchy. I wanted this blush as an alternative to Illamasqua’s Katie (hard to find now that sephora is dropping Illamasqua). I regret it though. For $30, I would expect a less powdery and more even application..
My Wet and Wild blush ($4) in Heather Silk is of a far superior quality than this.
Additionally, lasting power is very poor. My Wet and Wild and Tarte blushes last all day (they fade a little of course but I have long, 9+ hour days), but this doesn’t even come close on *my* personal.. face? And to me, longevity is essential so that alone leads me to give a 1 star review.
Not saying this won’t work for others – if NARS blushes last on you, you have a great skin texture (where it’ll apply evenly because this blush is fussy even though I have no breakouts, personally) and you are fair, this could work for you.

UPDATE: Even though this looks like a lavender pink in the pan, it is better described as a cherry blossom color (more pink, but soft). I have learned that on my NW20 skin, Sex Fantasy looks best with muted pinks (MAC Innocence Beware, Creme Cup, Maybelline Lust for Blush). MAC Well Dressed looks much better with anything more purple or lillac toned (i.e. the lillac color whisper or Revlon Berry Haute).
NARS Sex Fantasy is a pale pink with a hint of lavender in the pan (but just coming off as a soft pink) from the Final Cut collection (Nordstrom only…but not sure) in Jan 2014. In the pan it looks like everything I have been wanting to try in a blush. I usually use Well Dressed but was looking for something with a hint of lavender to try or at least more pale pink. I swatched both shades on a white piece of paper and WD came off as a strong pink, almost rosy, and Sex Fantasy was more of a light, soft pink with a muted tone. Now, when I applied this shade to my NW20 cheeks (with slight natural pinkness to them, almost black hair (3n) & brown eyes), I don’t see any of the lavender I see in the pan. It does not look true to pan on me. On Temptalia it looks so true to pan on her NC30 skin. But definitely not true to pan on my NW20 skin (I have the same hair and eye color as Temptalia though). It ends up looking like your typical rosey cheeks on me, not dull, but not a really soft muted pink. Definitely on the cooler side.
