   I’ve been looking for rose gold shadows and saw this palette at a recent trip to Ulta. Picked it up because it was pretty inexpensive as far as palettes go and I am super impressed with it. This was my first Ulta shadow purchase. The top row of shadows are shimmery, but low on glitter. The bottom row are all matte shades. I’ve been applying them on top of the ELF primer and using Real Techniques brushes. I agree with the previous reviewer that the color payoff is good. The colors are nice and I’ve been using them with both my Naked 2 and Naked 2 Basics palettes. Lots of nice combinations and it’s been easy to do natural pretty looks and dramatic looks.

   The case has a magnetic closure that will probably open if you keep it in a bag. It comes with a brush which I didn’t even unwrap so I can’t speak to how well it works. I took one lippy off because it doesn’t have a mirror. With a palette this size (it’s similar to a UD Naked size), I expect a mirror.

   I’ve only had a chance to use this on my eyes a couple of times, but wanted to add a review before this limited version is gone. Today, I wanted a natural look: Lid Hopeless Romantic; highlight mix of Prosecco and Pink; crease Dessert (and a pinch of Breathless for blending). I used primer under, but I do for all powder shadows. Wear just fine, as well as any of my other shadows and better than some. Go on smoothly and evenly. Perhaps not as dense as some of the very high-end shadows, but perfectly fine for me.

   This has 4 highlight shades: Champagne (F), a rose-tinted beigey frost; Pink (F), sheer baby pink (but doesn’t appear “pink” on skin, just softly glowy); Prosecco (M), very light cream with a faint pink tone; and Bubbles (M), very light matte pink (once again, doesn’t really look “pink” on skin). Of these, only Champagne is truly dense. For me, this is a plus; I prefer my highlighters to be more sheer, it looks more natural. I’d be more likely to use Champagne as a lid highlight than underbrow. I also often like to mix a shimmer and a matte for underbrow, and this palette makes it very simple, as they are right next to each other (I don’t have to fumble around for more than one item).

   Note: Below (F)=Frost, (M)=Matte

   Mid colors: Hopeless Romantic (F), Chandelier (F), and Breathless (M). HR is a shimmer midpink with a beigey frost; C is more gold and darker but still in the rose family; B is a matte dusty rose and seems very versatile. Of these, C is the most intense.

   There’s an inbetween shade, Dessert (M), a midtone matte browned rose. I use as a crease color, but can see as a lid color for darker skins.

   The darker accent colors veer outside the rose theme, but complement it nicely.
   Sweetheart (M), mid tone rosy plum. Orchid (M), mid/dark plummy (dark enough for a soft liner). Luxe (F) is very interesting; looks brownish in the pan, but goes on a shimmery dense dark plum with iridescent shimmer (at my age, this is only a back corner accent or liner). That goes double for the last shade, Dahlia (satin shimmer), which is a very dark satin plum-purple with pinkish micro shimmer. All are pretty intense, especially Luxe and Dahlia.

   Overall, this is a very usable palette with both soft and intense shades, most are natural looking (excepting Dahlia and Luxe). Sometimes pink shadows can be hard to wear; these are very wearable, and while they might be more flattering to those with fair skin, I can see them working for those with medium skin tones as well. Not sure if the lighter colors would show up on very dark skin (but I bet Luxe and Dahlia would be yummy). Color payoff is good, matte colors go on nicely (not chalky), and the price is right at $20. I have a LOT of eyeshadow, and I can see myself using just this palette for a number of looks.
