I know a lot of people feel it’s pointless to review discontinued products but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case; especially if you’re like me and often search eBay for hard-to-find stuff. So, I’ve had this shampoo for several years. I have never used it consistently, only for special occasions (I used to have the matching conditioner as well but I use a lot and it’s long gone). In my quest to use up my stash of hair products I brought this out as my main shampoo for the autumn months. I’ve been using it for two straight weeks and I’m really impressed. First off, the scent is delicious. Spicy pumpkin pie in a bottle, although it doesn’t really have much staying power. This shampoo gets my hair just clean enough and doesn’t strip or make it dry despite containing an ammonium sulfate. It lathers well and feels very rich when I apply it. I only wash my roots/scalp and this rinses clean without making the length of my hair tangly. As far as “rehydrating”, I would say this does seem to moisturize a little. Overall I like it a whole lot and will be very sad when it’s gone. If you happen to find this shampoo at a decent price, I would recommend buying it especially if you like pumpkin scents.

Very cute bottle (kinda reminds me of the old milk bottles) and heavenly somewhat pumpkiny scent. Seems to add moisture to my hair and leave it looking shiny and healthy. When paired with the pumpkin masque, this stuff is dangerous! Wish they weren’t discontinuing it as the others say, but I found it today (May 24, 2010) in the hair section at my local CVS so not sure what the “discont.” status really is. So far so good and the smell is to die for!

I’d been wanting to try this shampoo for a long time since I love the smell but I thought it was too expensive. I had been using TIGI’s Oatmeal & Honey which smells great too. I just wanted a change. I found the Pumpkin Rehydrating Shampoo for about 1/3 of the price at TJMaxx, bought it and really like it. It’s creamy, rich, lathers well and rinses clean. What I didn’t like was the packaging so I poured it into a see through bottle with a dispenser cap I like better. I would love to buy it again if I can find it at the cheaper price. If I can’t, I would probably spend the higher amount since I’m happy with it. I like it better than the Oatmeal & Honey for the performance.

I scored this at TJ Maxx for 9.99 for 1 liter! I really like it. I have really healthy hair already so I bought it for the scent. I will be going back to stock up on it lol. It is really creamy and my hair feels super soft when its wet before I condition. I also loved that my husband called me “pumpkin head” when he smelled my hair 🙂 I also noticed that it does give my hair a little more bounce then other shampoos that I have used.

Eh…a little steep for me, but I’m really liking it. I use this with every conditioner I own and the final result seems to be the same good result every time. my hair feels new, like it’s never been dyed. It’s been dyed over 40 times in 4 years. It’s also amazingly shiny. I don’t know why the other reviews are so-so.

I’m pretty neutral about this shampoo – I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. It’s just an average shampoo. It has a very creamy white texture so I really had high expectations for its moisturizing properties. It’s marketed as a hydrating shampoo but I don’t find it moisturizing at all (but it didn’t dry my hair either). In addition, its cleansing properties aren’t the best – I have to shampoo twice in order to feel really clean (I never do this with other shampoos). The scent is actually nice though – a non-pungent, soft, creamy, pumpkin scent. The scent definitely dissipates, however. For example, after blowdrying, the scent is only noticeable if someone is really close to your hair. I’ll finish this, but won’t repurchase. It sells for $14.95 for 10 oz.

I’ve had this for a while and still haven’t used it up, partly because I don’t use it every time I shampoo. It does what it says in that it’s moisturizing, doesn’t dry my hair out. Unfortunately it also weighs it down and seems to leave a film on it or something. It has a nice pumpkin smell but not really my favorite scent for a hair product. Something about it turns me off but I don’t think it matters much once my hair is dry, just while I’m shampooing. I will finish this bottle but not repurchase.

LOVE THIS STUFF! I bought the small bottles on sale dirt cheap and want liter bottles so bad, but haven’t been able to find them anywhere. This smells absolutely delicious. I have used it with the Pumpkin Enzyme Therapy Mist and my hair smells declicious all day! It leaves my hair silky soft and shiny. I was afraid it would be too heavy for my fine hair that is easily weighed down, but it’s not – it’s perfect!!!

Firstly, I found this product at Winners in downtown Toronto and it was for only $7.99 so I decided to purchase it. I have to say there is nothing hydrating about this product. It really cleansed my scalp and hair well but that’s about it. On the positive side, it did not make my hair feel coarse or dry after rinsing it out. I also noticed I didn’t need to use much to clean my hair and it seemed to penetrate quickly to my scalp, unlike ABBA Complete which I have been using for at least a year. Plus, it seemed to work well with my ABBA Recoup conditioner.I love the smell, initially it was strong but then it left a very faint scent to my hair. Love it! So, despite it’s lack of hydrating properties, I will continue to use it since it cleans my scalp well without effort and I love the smell. I’d only purchase this product again if significantly discounted. UPDATE: I stopped using this shampoo after discovering HEMPZ hydrating shampoo, as the Pumpkin shampoo doesn’t really clean my scalp properly and/or I’m sensitive to the lingering effects of the scent. I found that my scalp would be very itchy within a day or two after washing. Besides, HEMPZ is superior in terms of moisturing my hair. I can actually comb out my hair easily right after shampooing without adding any conditioner! Now that’s impressive! 2nd UPDATE: Nov. 28/08: I stopped using Hempz shampoo and conditioner. They both stopped working for some reason and I don’t like how it feels on my wet hair.

Smells great but not overpowering. Rich lather leaves my hair full of volume and shiny. The scent is best for Fall/Winter.
