Great product, goes on easily, the colour (universal dark for me) is natural, and the brush is perfect (I actually switched from almost identical Annabelle pencil because I didn’t like its tiny comb as much).

Bought this product after an impressively long lasting swatch. Unfortunately it will not come off on my eyebrows. As in, no color deposit. None. Not with primer. Not without primer. Not with pencil first, etc. It does not work on my eyebrows! WASTED $

I’m so impressed with this product. It solves so many issues that I’ve had with other brow pencils or powders or gels. I’ve tried TONS of other products because I have trichotillomania and pull out my brows, especially when I’m stressed. I’m also an MUA and have had access to lots of products to try. For my own brows I need a product that will really look natural and blend well into my remaining brows and not make the whole thing look like a dark, penciled-in mess. It also needs to have great staying power because if it rubs off or melts at all I will have blocks of skin showing in my brows.
Here are the serious PROS of the product:
1) The UNIVERSAL DARK is PERFECT in color for anything from dark blonde to dark brown hair. It is is the ideal taupe-ish brown without being too gray. It really doesn’t have a single tinge of red to it when it’s on my skin, which is a problem I have with many many brown brow liners.
2) The liquid is not too opque so application is easy to not look too dark or heavy handed. I do find, however, that it applies that much more subtly when your skin is fresh from a face wash or shower and blends better between the brow hairs without getting too dark.
3) It has lasting power, much better than most pencils and powders.
4) The pen itself seems to hold a fair bit of product so I have not ran out at all in months and I use it every day.
5) It’s not too expensive. The product doesn’t run out as soon as MAC’s brow pencils, which are my second fave, and is cheaper. So the value is good overall.
6) The felt end is durable.
CONS
1) It is not a super stiff or sharp end to the felt so if you’re looking to draw in individual hairs this isn’t necessarily the best option. But I find I don’t have to resort to that technique because this looks blends in so well.
The idea of a pen product for the brows didn’t sound ideal to me at first, but it turns out to be my HG brow product.

I am a very faithful eyebrow pen user. I am particularly fond of the Milani pen. I have used many though as well as special order pens from Korea and Japan. (also NYX, Anastasia)This one is the best and my new found love because this doesn’t budge. I have the shade universal dark and its perfect. It’s not ashy or green. It has a unique felt tip that will allow for hair like strokes or a bolder line.
I had my eyebrows professionally tattooed and once they started to fade I needed something to kind of mimic the look of the brushstrokes. My brows are not like what a person would typically picture when you hear “tattooed eyebrows”. They look like hair. I traveled quite a ways to find someone and paid a fortune for them. The trouble is because of the tiny detail they fade fast. I was no longer satisfied with a pencil or powder anymore because it didn’t give me that perfect hair like look. So, because of the high cost of the procedure, I discovered pens. The reason why this beats out the other pens is because its $13.99 CAD and looks and stays better. This pen doesn’t bleed or look weird during the day. Try this out if your interested. They have a lighter universal shade as well. It’s also very nice in color and not too ashy.
Remember to store your pens upside down and apply to clean skin. I apply after my skincare and take a paper towel and blot the residue off my brows before I apply. Then carry on with everything else. The make up and stuff will clog up the felt and you’ll lose a significant amount of life out of it.
