Thanks for getting older and having children (aka hormones) I have a need for this product. I use the Medium/Coarse every week-2 weeks. I have had no irritation or redness. I use it at night. It removes all but 2 or 3 hairs. I’ll take plucking a few hairs over plucking a ton. It is expensive, but often you can find sales to bring it to around $20. This is one product I will not let run out.

While I think it is very over priced, it does work. The balm definitely prevents my skin from turning red and irritated. Plus the hair removal part is much better scented then similar products.

This is the best hair remover cream I’ve tried in ages.
I have dark hair and some hyperpigmentation on my upper lip which is obviously exacerbated by having any dark hair there, so removing it is important to me. I can’t wax my upper lip (no matter what and no matter how I prep/ treat after, I get a multitude of small pimples afterwards) and shaving is not ideal. Generally I pluck. For me, most hair remover creams cause reactions, ranging from mild irritation and redness to terrible, gross blistering.
I purchased the Olay on a bit of whim (and was redeeming some Shopper optimum points) and I really like it. The package says to leave on for 8 minutes and not more than 10. I left it on for 6. 7 Minutes is probably ideal for me to ensure that all hair is removed.
It was effective in removing almost all of the hair with two wipes. There was slight redness afterwards, but no stinging. The redness dissipated within about an hour.
I would likely re-purchase, as it’s the only chemical lotion remover which hasn’t given me an awful reaction. I didn’t mind the two stage process (wiping a balm on first before the remover lotion) as it took really no time at all.
Make sure to patch test first!

I’m not exaggerating when I say I have tried every single method/device under the sun for hair removal. It’s been somewhat of a preoccupation and a bit of an obsession throughout my university years. Since I have hair in the usual places, and some not so much, I’ve been in pursuit of hair-free skin since I hit puberty. When this came out on the market I just had to try it. The price is very, very steep for what it actually is – a depilatory cream for the face. Anyway, the application process is as easy as pie. Put on the protecting balm, apply the hair removal cream, wait up to 8 minutes I believe it was, and wipe off. What could be simpler? Unfortunately, the product did not deliver. The hair grew back within a couple of days, and came back in coarser and darker. Also, despite the use of protecting balm, I still experienced a mild burn to my upper lip area…not a great look! I would not – in all good conscience – recommend this item.

Waste of money:-( not much irritation, but, not much hair removal either !! Balm makes great lip gloss though…..

Great product!
Although I usually avoid hair depilatories on the face (stubble, anyone!), after reading reviews, I decided to give this a go. And although I was originally planning to return it, based on the price, I’m so glad I didn’t! I use it almost every 2 weeks. Although I only mix it in with my routine – I still swear by laser, it’s the best, this is a great ‘in-between’ laser treatments. It does exactly what it says – removes hair without irritation. ALWAYS apply the balm first, before you put the hair removal cream on, this is what keeps the skin protected from irritation. I usually leave it just under 10 minutes – voila, no pain, no redness, no hair.
I will re-purchase. And although I was initially very off put by the price tag, I’ve had one tube almost 6 months, so it’s quite good value.

This has been my favorite hair removal product so far. It gets the job done and there is barely any burning sensation but there is a tingle but I highly recommend this to anyone.

This broke me out. Not just where I used it but all over basically. Little red hives/rash. It worked for sure but since I broke out, I returned it.

Followed the instructions and worked perfectly for me! No burning/redness/irritation that everyone else on here did.
Used the “Skin Guarding Balm” on upper lip area, rubbed it in as if it were a lotion, then put the hair removal cream on my finger (as directed) and applied it immiatedly to my skin. I didn’t notice a particularly bad smell, most hair removers have that kind of smell so it didn’t bother me.
Let it do it’s thing for 8 minutes (recommended 6-8), wipes it off with a cotton pad and voila. Perfectly smooth skin. Not only did it remove all visible hair, but I also noticed the texture of the skin there was also smoother.
The only thing I don’t like about this product is the price. About $30 CND for 19g? I feel like I’d run out of the removal cream and have a lot of the balm left over. So that seems a bit wasteful.

I have tried this twice on my fine, blond upper lip hair….doesn’t do a thing for me!
I just noted the remark below about dabbing on the skin protector….will try this next time….
I got a 2pack of this for $3.90 at BJs…
I will update next time I try it…but so far…no good for me
Update….this does not work for me …..
