I bought this a few days ago as a birthday treat. Initially, a few weeks before the purchase, when I was buying the Meteorites, the SA showed me this eyeshadow and I gasped when I looked at the colors combo. Under the store’s light, the e/s seemed gleaming with its subtle elegance glows. The color combos also blend into each other, no mismatch color here. However, I didnt buy it at first because of the price but I was thinking about it the whole time. Luckily, my brother gave me vouchers for my bday gift so I snapped the e/s, it was the last one that they had in the stock. I played with it at home, trying the possibility of how this is going to work. The first day was not successful, I checked you tube but mostly they apply it too much and sort of killed the purpose of this e/s is going for. BUT, on the second day, finally I found my HG combo and it is beyond gorgeous. The texture is matte, no fall out, easy to apply (I dont use fingers or super duper expensive brushes, just the brush that they include in the e/s), very smooth and sheer (note: not lack of pigmentation). The deep purple doesnt come out purple on me, just greyish dark plum, maybe because i didnt use a primer. I do believe that this e/s is better applied with its own brush. I created tone on tone, placement strategies or layered. If you like strong, edgy Urban Decay typ of e/s then this is not for you. I own UD Vice 2, though I used it a lot in the past, somehow I past that strong, heavy looks and rather to have monochrome makeup, i.e : soft pink mauve eyes with dusty pink lipstick. I look less older and more sophisticated. I also save time for blending. If the e/s are this soft and high quality, blending isnt necessary. No need to buy tons of eyeshadow brushes for patting, creasing, lining, highlighting, blending and thats before we come to the perfecting our face. I paired this e/s with Guerlain noir G mascara. Utter perfection!

I really enjoy using this. Eyeshadows are smooth and decently pigmented, you need few layers to get full coverage, which makes it so much easier to blend (expect liner, this one has got much stronger pigment). Colours are on the cooler side and if you are medium to dark blond you may be able to use mate brown colour for your eyebrows.
Packaging feels luxurious and travels quite well. Only downside is plastic part with a mirror that covers eyeshadows. It is hard to open at first but it gets looser with time. Attached brush is quite decent for what it is and I am able to create simple looks with it while on the go.

It was one of my Christmas gifts (self-selected, mind you). I loved my other Guerlain palette (Vendome) so much that I really had to get more but the price was stopping me. It’s a great neutral leaning cool palette. I think it will be really fantastic for girls with green eyes (it goes from light beige to taupe and then to dark burgundy). Mine are grey but I think this palette will suit anybody. What I do like about these palettes is that there are no particularly glittery shadows in them (this one has an iridescent pale pink eyeshadow in the middle though, which I rarely use). These are perfect for a daily office look but you can easily go from a light subtle look to a heavier evening one and you won’t need any other palette to complete the look. I particularly like the lightest matte beige color for blending out the darker colors but it’s also great to even out your eyelid color (I am very fair!). The only eyeshadow that I don’t like is the eyeliner darker shade because of the fall-out. I never have that with my Vendome palette. But yet it’s another fantastic palette from Guerlain and I love it to bits! And I do love the fact that these palettes will be all I need when I have to travel and only take the minimum.
