Omg this brush!!! It’s perf! I use it for all kinda powders (or buffing in my cream bronzer/highlight/blush Clinique chubby sticks), also buffing in fdtn.’s is easy w this brush. I am going to buy a couple more someday soon. I paid ~$5.99USD but brush sets can be had from BH Cosmetics/Coastal Scents an entire set for $9 so that is something of consider. I love their e/s brushes but powder/blush I count on this brush. I’ve been looking high low for a CG e/s brush in my travels! Not that dual ended 1 w a slant 1 side e/s other not the sponge tip applicators but their plain (elf calls it a “C” brush fish have similar). If I don’t find 1 I’m going to order when funds permit. This is an awesome brush 1 of CG best items (there are a couple CG items I like but otherwise blechhhhh brand). Get this brush if you like soft nice brushes rather than using the cr@p powder puffs it comes w/. (y to repurchase! I plan to p/u a couple more).

I don’t think this brush is as bad as people are claiming. Yes, this does shed & I also noticed black dye & a lot of leftover powder coming out of this when I washed it. But, what do you expect from a $4 brush? This isn’t the best make up brush in the world, but it’s not bad either. I only use this to apply bronzer, & for that purpose, it works well. This brush gives great even coverage. It’s not streaky either, which is another plus. Overall, I would buy this again because it’s a good brush for only $4.

This is the first powder foundation brush I’ve ever used. Before I tried anything else, I thought it was fine but very scratchy and prone to shedding (I found black synthetic hairs on my face and cleavage every time I used it). My other makeup brushes felt softer, but then they were for eye shadow and blush. Maybe powder foundation brushes were supposed to feel rough!
Not so. I upgraded to a natural hair brush and was horrified at how scratchy my old brush is in comparison. Not only that, but the coverage is far better. If you’re desperate, the CG brush is fine. But if you want something with good quality, don’t waste your time.

Good brush at a good price. Weird shaped (flat top) but, it buffs powder on your skin very well.

Ugh, I hated this harsh thing. I couldn’t blend mineral makeup at all with this. It’s rough and sheds. It seems too bulky, the brushes have little give and, well I just pitched it after the first attempt at washing it, when a whole lot of dye started pouring from it. Boo!

Maybe this puts powder on my face well, I’m not sure. I honestly don’t care because 1. It shed all over the place (my brush cup, my face, falling on to my chest) and I’ve only used it once and 2. it is the prickliest brush I’ve ever used. PLEASE don’t buy this brush! There are other cheap options out there that are so much better. I’m so disappointed in this purchase.

I can’t believe that 70% of the people who bought this brush say they would buy it again! I got this FREE (as a gift with another CG product) and it is one of the absolute worst brushes I’ve ever used. So here’s the breakdown: Overall rating=3, since it is a functional brush. Price=5, because if you paid anything for this brush, you paid way too much. Packaging quality=4, no problem with the blister pack. Buy again=only if my other option is the cheapo that comes with the product. I actually have this brush in my rotation, and I use it, because I’m cheap, but I would never repurchase it!

Basically, this brush sucks. It does an okay job ( I bought it at a drugstore when we were traveling and forgot my kabuki brush )… until you need to wash it. The first time I washed it with baby shampoo the bristles clumped all together and even when it finally dried out almost a week later they still would not separate and nothing I did, including rewashing it, would make it go back. Oh well, what was I expecting from a drugstore make up brush?

I’ve had this brush for about a year now and I wish i would’ve picked it up loooong before that. when i first used it, i thought it was the worst brush ever and a total waste of money (even if it was cheap)…and mainly i thought that because of how it felt – super scratchy! i threw it in my black hole of a makeup drawer and forgot it about it for a few weeks until i somehow lost my regular kabuki brush. still scratch of course, so i went ahead and washed (btw – i didn’t have any of the bleeding of dye like the others mention…or if i did, it was no more that average – even my MAC 187 bled). The washing softened it up a bit but it wasn’t a miracle worker. nonetheless, i kept using it and eventually just got used to it. boy and i glad i did. right off the bat i noticed that it gave me a flawless face (to clarify, i only use this w/ mineral POWDER foundation).
but, when i got some cash in my pocket again, i did go out and still buy another kabuki…and then another…and another..and then i tried other foundation/stippling brushes..until i realized that when it came to applying my mineral powder makeup, NO OTHER brush (from ds brushes to MAC brushes) gave me the look/coverage/flawless/airbrushed face that this one did–and that’s with numerous foundations – everything from MAC studio fix to Wet n Wild mineral powder foundation and everything in between. seriously. honestly, to this day, i’m impressed every time i use it….and equally as surprised that a ds covergirl brush is what makes my face look this fab -every time-good skin day or bad!!
even after a year and multiple, multiple washings this brush still has its shape (same exact way as the day i bought it); i’ve had no problems at all w/ shedding (not during my application process or even when i wash it); it’s the perfect size to throw in a purse/makeup bag for touch ups; great dense bristles that actually give a light or a medium to full cover application. yes, it is still more stiff/scratchy than other kabuki’s, stippling, foundation brushes i have but i got used to it quickly and to me, the payoff is well worth it! this brush has definitely achieved HG status…when it comes to my powder foundations will not use any otehr brush.
if you can get over the scratchiness (which really is pretty tolerable) then i defiinitely recommend this brush. and for the price, you can’t beat it. not in my book anyway. if i have to for any reason, i will surely be repurchasing this brush!!

Applies alright…a little rough.. not very dense. WARNING please wash this brush before use. Before using this brush I washed it and like a previous reviewer stated black die is visible after washing. Not during washing but when laid out to dry you can see black residue, very disgusting! Save money and buy Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush!
