I am reviewing this box dye 379 Golden Bronze. I used this product on previously (LUSH caca rouge) hennaed black hair. My expectations were between red brown and deep auburn. One box was barely enough for full length application on undercut 5″ coarse curly hair. Surprise, surprise! The formula stinks. (Hello ammonia). It is also runny which I don’t like. I’d much prefer a cream consistency for precise application. Initially after rinsing out the color mixture my hair looked significantly looser in some places more than others and felt straw-like. My heart sank. It was a false alarm. Haha! My hair bounced right back after conditioning with the conditioner provided. I assessed the color properly at this point. It still has that lovely henna sheen but chocolate/auburn now. The color is quite close to what I had in mind. I was impressed. I had a couple of spots of hot roots. Luckily none on the hairline but I had some under-processed bits there. Nothing too crazy though. Overall the color took well. The only thing I really did not like was the applicator bottle cracking on me during application. That’s never happened to me before using Dark and Lovely dye kits. I hope it’s a one off!

I dyed my bleached blonde hair in Midnight Blue today. On the box it looks like a very deep dark black and it’s definitely true to the photo. My hair came out the most beautiful darkest black shade. You have to watch your edges though as if you go past your hair line it will dye your surrounding skin but that fades within a few days of showering.
Love this shade and at $5 a box love how it’s packaged so simply with just the two dye bottles and a tube of conditioner.
Yrs later I’m still using only this product to dye my hair black. It’s been the only boxed hair dye that never dried out my hair. My natural 4c hair has grown long and strong.
