Press * for Silver is a warm silver pearl with rose undertones (unlike cool silvers with white or blue undertones). It’s a beautiful and unique shade, and really flattering with my skin tone. Although the formula is a bit thick, I didn’t have any problems with application, and the wear time is impressive – five days before I saw tip wear.

Press * For Silver is from the Starlight (holiday 2015) collection, and it is one of the pearl/metallic type polishes from it. The shade is sort of silver, but it has a rosy undertone, so it’s not too cold and harsh as a cool toned silver.
The formula is top-notch; although I always wear at least two coats of any polish, with this I’ve found that you really only need one coat for complete coverage, that matches the shade in the bottle. It is smooth to apply, doesn’t leave lots of brush stroke marks (almost all fade as the polish dries), and it dries quickly. It wears well; a topcoat doesn’t effect wear time either way.

Press * For Silver is a shade from OPI’s newest release, the Starlight collection. I think it’s lovely! I wouldn’t classify it as a “rose gold” shade or as a foil texture, it’s more of a metallic silvery rose taupe color that to me has just a tiny hint of shimmer. Since it’s more of a frosty metallic formula of course you can see the brush strokes as you apply this polish but they blend out nicely as it dries, especially after top coat application. Wear is pretty typical, nothing special on that front, for a manicure this lasted maybe 3 days without chipping. When I used this for a pedicure though it lasted a full two weeks and still looked great, I only took it off because I wanted to change colors.
As far as shade comparison goes, when I tried this the first time of course I thought about Orly Rage, but they’re really not dupes at all. The Orly has more pink in it and a kind of motley shimmery side to it. I also compared this OPI’s This Silver’s Mine! but again, no dupe there, the This Silver’s Mine! was much more silvery in shade with the Press * for Silver being a more neutral taupe color.
Overall this is a beautiful shade worth purchasing if you don’t have anything similar in your collection which I didn’t. And it looks absolutely GORGEOUS with a coat of Ce-less-tial is More from the same collection. LOVE!!!!
