At the age of 52 I still have somewhat oily skin and can get breakouts. Recently I had a big breakout of pimples all over my face – not sure what triggered it, maybe the hot summer weather.
I picked this up at the reject shop for $4. There aren’t many toners in Australia that are available with saliclyc acid and I wanted one that didn’t also contain glycolic acid. This fit the bill.
It’s fairly gentle, certainly doesn’t sting, unless you have open cuts or popped pimples, and it doesn’t smell too bad – fake fruit body wash fragrance. Although I would prefer it unfragranced, like I said, slim pickings in Australia.
It made a considerable difference to my breakouts, calming down the redness and helping them heal without irritation. Although I don’t used toner on a daily basis, I have purchased two extra bottles in case my skin plays up again.
Time used – once a day for two weeks
Amount used – less than one fifth of the bottle
Result – minimised size of pimples and calmed down redness

I really like this toner, it’s on par with Witch Hazel from TN Dickinson’s.
Pros:
– Lovely smell
– Really does clean well
– Extremely cheap …
– Has salicylic acid in it, good for people with acne
Cons:
– I’m pretty sure that it has discontinued in Australia, Melbourne. I got mine from the Reject shop because that’s where most discontinued products go.
– I don’t have the pump version, I have the lid version. But why is the lid so HARD TO OPEN? To whoever that is designing these kind of packaging (& Clearasil Ultra Acne + Marks Wash and Mask I’m talking about you too), not all girls are that manly, it really is hard to open and does hurt your fingers/nails). Simple lids are better than fancy ones that are annoying to open.
