Peace & Love & OPI is probably one of the best polishes to come out of OPI’s San Francisco collection. It is a duochrome colour – a slate grey metallic base with pigments that flash an aqua/green in bright light and a pinky purple in dimmer light. It is very pretty and brings to mind images of an oil slick. It is unique to my collection. The formula is a little thinner than my other OPIs, though I still managed to get it to become opaque in two coats, you need to apply quite carefully though in order to avoid bald spots. It dries with some visible brush strokes, but for the most part is self-levelling. I would recommend applying carefully though, in straight lines to minimise brush strokes. It dries quickly and to a shiny finish, though applying topcoat really emphasises the duochrome effect. I get around 4 days wear from this polish when paired with base and top coat, so slightly less than my other OPIs. I imagine this may be due to the thinner formula. Regardless this is a very pretty shade of duochrome polish and I am happy to recommend it to anyone. I believe it would be universally flattering on all skin tones.

I chose this shade of OPI when I got my nails done recently, and I absolutely fell in love with the unique duochrome nature of it. In some light, it looks like a metallic charcoal. Then, light hits my nails from another source or angle, and it looks, green, blue, aqua, pink, purple, or even a slightly orange-rust hue! I’ve never seen anything else like it! I was so in love with this color that I bought a bottle online and decided that it will be my new signature nail color. I would recommend this to anyone and would buy it again and again. The picture above doesn’t do the shade justice at all, IMO.

I’ve recently started getting into nail polish more and this was my first time trying OPI. It requires two coats to be opaque and it’s a really nice metallic grey, green and purple shade. It sort of resembles an oil slick design. I did find this to be quite expensive at $19.95 but I live in Australia so I assume it is cheaper in other countries. Wears really well and can’t see the brush strokes. Will buy again

This is a very unique color – and if applied with one coat or 2 looks completely different. A grey-base with purple to green duo-chrome over it. Lovely and unique. Edgy. Love it.

I like the changing nature of these types of polishes but this one did nothing for my skin tone. The base is a steel grey but it changes to a flash of green or purple depending on what type of light you are in or how you hold your hand. Good formula, no visible brush strokes. A two coater. I will not repurchase.

How fun is this? Others have described this color well, but you really need to try it to see how gorgeous it is on.
I can’t speak for wear because I just now slicked on two coats (with Seche base & top coats), but it went on so smoothly and dried in a flash. But wow, it’s pretty!
Will update if I can get more or less than four days’ good wear out of it, which is my norm for most OPI polishes.

I am not a fan of duochromes, but I love this shade. It looks exactly like the color of a Tahitian black pearl. So gorgeous and flattering on my skintone.

I’m really really really glad I got this colour, it’s the first duochrome I’ve ever had and only the second OPI I’ve tried. I do like it, but I’m not too crazy about the base colour, hence the 4 lippies instead of 5. In dim lighting (where I spend most of the time) like indoor lighting it looks like a slate grey with a bit of duochrome colour, depending on how the light changes it can look metallic green or purple. However I didn’t find that it changed colour as much as I expected it to, perhaps I just don’t spend enough time outside during the day haha. On the other hand the quality of this polish is SUPER! It’s uber fantastic! You can put on one or two coats, with one coat it might look a bit streaky, with two it’s completely opaque and looks super shiny and thick and deep and rich. It lasts maybe 4 or 5 days without chipping which is really nice, because the cheap polishes don’t even make it for 2 days on me!

I love this polish. many multichromes are thin polishes but this one had a nice thick base color. I did 2 coats and application was even and flawless. I did a coat of OPI Pure 18k over it and it looked really good. Lasted almost 2 weeks before it started chipping.
I am not a fan of the pro-wide brush so that is the reason for the lippie off.

This is such a fun polish! I love duochromes, but unfortunately, many of them don’t shift color as well on the nails as they do in the bottle. But this one is perfect — it has a metallic dark grey base, but depending on the light it shifts to a blue-teal, a darker green, or a pinky-purple. It’s so beautiful! I actually almost bought Essie For the Twill of It, which is very similar, but after looking at swatches I decided I liked the look of this one better. Since this is metallic, it will show brush strokes if you don’t apply carefully, and it will also highlight nail imperfections like ridges if you don’t use a ridge filler beforehand. This started chipping on me in about 3 days, which is a little below average for me — usually I can get OPIs to last closer to a week. I agree with the reviewer below who said that some OPI polishes last ages, and some don’t have any lasting power. Kind of annoying never knowing what you’re gonna get, but I do like the formula and the brush, so I’ll continue to purchase OPI regardless.
Little side story: I was doing something around the house and my little sister was near me. When I moved my hand near the window the color shifted and my sister said “Oh my gosh, your polish changed color! What the heck is that stuff?! That’s crazy!” So cute. 🙂
