A lot of fireworks in the US about a product I’ve been using for 20 yrs. Snail Cream. I bought my first jar of Elicina in Mexico when I discovered I’d forgotten to pack a topical antibiotic. The info on the pkg was in both Spanish & Eng, & it sound like a miracle product. The salesgirl said most people use Elicina for facial blemishes, burns, scarred skin, minor skin abrasions, and acne. Since making that first purchase I’ve never been without the stuff.
I primarily use the cream as a spot treatment for blemishes & occasional acne flare-ups. The snail extract has anti-inflammatory properties which begin to calm redness within a few hours. Healing time is reduced by about half, leaving nary a trace of former zit.
I don’t think this particular formula is meant to be used on the whole face as a moisturizer. The company makes a cream called Elicina Plus for that, but something in the “Plus” formula irritated my skin, which is highly sensitive, so I stick with the original. The Elicina! original is 80% pure snail mucin. The website used to list the specific remaining 20% excipient ingredients, but unfortunately I no longer see them.
For 10+ yrs I had to order each jar from Chile, but the company now has an authorized distributor in the US and CA. For your comparison, here are links to Elicina’s site, and to an article from NY Magazine (2015) about snail creams.

I’ve been using elicina for two weeks to get rid of my acne scars.. well it is working. After two weeks , i noticed that the scars were disappearing.
Good but you have to be regular for that :/ If you’re not planning to be regular, don’t try it.
to get results within 2 weeks i had to apply it day and night and sometimes even under makeup .
I have oily face,and it doesn’t make my face too oily. I like the texture.
The only real problem with it is that u get very little cream for an expensive price…

I haven’t found this cream particularly great. Mind you I bought the Plus version, which is more moisturizing than the original Elicina Cream.
One jar didn’t do wonders for my acne prone skin, I think Clinique Turnaround Cream is better for me so I’ll switch back to that.
Maybe I used too much but I quickly ran out, so I think the retail price is too high. I got a great deal for 2 jars on Ebay.

Well I have to say I was a bit worried about this product as it felt siliconey in texture BUT it does work. Its not a miracle and I would avoid it if you have sensitive skin as this is a treatment NOT a moisturiser. (I don’t apply it to my cheeks as they can be sensitive and this made them a bit pink). but it cleared up a breakout and faded some red marks left behind.
A nice makeup base (I use it alone on my T zone) and another moisturiser on my sensitive cheeks etc.
Packaging is basic and would prefer it not to have snail cream written on it purely so I could leave it out in the bathroom without all my guests saying ‘ewwww’ and asking what the heck it is!!
Would buy again.
Edited to add that sadly I developed mild rosacea following illness and this is just too much for my skin now. Still a good product but not for sensitive skins sadly.

I have bought two to three jars of Elicina in the past.
I purchased Elicina a few years ago to apply to a discolored, acne scar that I had trouble covering with my foundation or concealer, etc. (This was an old scar from like 1979 that was not completely level and had a discoloration).
Seems like you are advised to use this twice a day. After using it once a day–and not every day–for probably close to a year, it did fade the discoloration and even out the surface of the scar, so I’m not self conscious about it anymore.
This product would be even more effective on recent (less than 18 month old) injuries rather than on older ones.
I do believe it did help the area where I applied it, but you must use it over a period of months and be consistent.
I have a pitted acne scar, and it didn’t level it out, though.
I’ve also been using beta hydroxy and retinyl products, like Elizabeth Skin Illuminating Complex and one by Neutrogena. They also help to smooth out old damage and make your face feel really smooth.

My dermatologist told me about Elicina several years ago for the keratosis (back-of-the-arm-bumps) and it cleared them right up! I love this stuff. I only purchase it now from the authorized dealers that are on the companies website. Beware of “knock – offs” that don’t work. Elicina is pure snail excrement and the knock-offs have additives, etc. This stuff is DEFINATELY WORTH THE HIGH PRICE!!

My boyfriend recommended this product to me actually, it really helps with his adult acne and tightens your face. It took me 2 tries to use the cream successfully since it made me break out / rash a little bit in the beginning. But finally my skin tolerated it. I’ve been using this product for a few months now and I really love it. I use it especially around my eyes and I’ve noticed a dramatic difference, I’m practically getting an eye-lift. It makes your skin really soft and smooth, no sign of wrinkles and not as oily as before. I also haven’t had a real zit in a while. Try starting this cream during the winter, since your skin’s drier and less likely to break out (I have pretty oily skin). I add a gel moisturizer on top, like Elene Hydration or Clinique’s dramatically different gel. You can get it for less than $30 nowadays. It’s a great investment. I’m likely to rely on this cream to ward off my soon-to-come wrinkle-forming days.

I actually happen to love this stuff. I use it for all kinds of skin problems – eczema, dry flaky skin on my face, irritation, breakouts, and it has been fantastic! Works better than a ton of other stuff I’ve tried. It is really lightweight and has a very pleasant texture. It is not greasy and doesn’t really smell like anything. And the fact that it is made from snails is really cool. I am currently finishing up my second jar and will definitely repurchase.

I bought this straight from the company that makes it, it costs $40 a jar, plus I had to pay international shipping which was steep, I bought two jars and that was a lot of money for me at the time, I was in highschool and had to save just to buy it. It claims to work on acne, scarring, stretch marks, exzema, dermatitis, you name it it pretty much claims to heal or teart it.
It did nothing for my skin or my stretch marks (which were just the lighter ones you can get from puberty, not even the deep pregnancy ones), I was really dissapointed, such a waste of money.

First off, Elicina is not a moisturizer. It is recommended to use a moisturizer after applying. What it is supposed to contain is Allantoin, Collagen, Elastin, Natural Antibiotic Peptides, Proteins, Vitamins and Glycolic Acid. I have had some success in reducing seborrheic keratosis with it. I have purchased it twice from Ebay.
