   Keep in mind that I have very oily skin, especially since going off of birth control pills a few months ago. No matter my skin care regimen, I could not get rid of the bumps on my forehead under my bangs–with or without hairspray, make-up, you name it. I was even getting the deep cyst acne on the back of my neck (where I don’t put anything) not to mention the visible zits on my chin and cheeks, and even some bumps on the top of my chest. In desperation I grabbed a few rubbing alcohol wipes from work and began using those morning and night, followed with some Equate Aveeno lotion to keep from drying out too badly. Voila!

   Just a few days ago I poured some rubbing alcohol into a pump bottle and I now saturate a gauze square and wipe like a toner after cleansing and before lotion, not forgetting the back of my neck and the top of my chest. I’m not sure if I get quite the exfoliation I was getting with the alcohol wipes so I’ll update if I see a difference. I still get the occasional zit but they don’t come to a head and go away within 24-48 hours.

   If you have sensitive or dry skin you may want to proceed with caution–but if you constantly fight oil and zits then I HIGHLY recommend this! I actually bought a box of alcohol wipes for my son (he can’t be bothered with the gauze and liquid) for like $2 for 200 or something ludicrous like that. You’ll find them in the finger-poke section for diabetics in the pharmacy.

   Don’t use this if you have dry skin. I got chemical burns.

   When I was told to use rubbing alcohol on my cysts and acne, I thought it was a joke. But, in desperation, I tried it out and I can honestly say this works wonders. I used it three days in a row by just dabbing a little on a cotton puff and in circular motions lightly sweeper over my face with the puff. Took me about 2 minutes all up and cost me $8AUD for a decent sized bottle (I got isocol anti-bacterial rubbing alcohol; it’s in a big green bottle) and I’m serious when I say that it truly reduced the size of my cysts drastically and made my skin noticeably less bumpy. It’s a bit drying on the skin, especially around the nose and chin, but it’s a small price to pay for better skin!

   Besides all of the other uses, I just discovered how helpful this is during manicures. I apply cuticle removing gel, then push back my cuticle, clip and file my nails, smooth and buff my nail surfaces, and then I put some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel and carefully swipe each nail. This removes any oils or residue, so my base coat goes on smoothly and bonds cleanly with my nails. I experience very little chipping of polish now that I’ve added this step. So cheap but great results!

   I’ve never thought about putting this on my lips….
   But for my face, yes! I use 50% concentration and I’ve read plenty of articles about how it’s not good for your skin. However, I use it maybe twice a week or less (when I feel the start of a breakout). I find it’s also great as a spot treatment in those occurences that I get that one nasty deep one that hurts like crazy. I must warn you though: moisturize after!!! Rubbing alcohol dries out your skin!
   Oh, and I apply it with a cotton ball. 🙂

   I’d never put this on my lips, but I do use it as toner. I have oily skin and this makes my skin squeaky clean. The last time I ran out of Sea Breeze I dumped some tea tree oil in with it and was amazed at how well it worked. Plus it’s dirt cheap!

   I only just discovered the uses for rubbing alcohol…late I know! From the boards, I found out how to remove Sharpie drawings from my hand, repress broken shadows/powder cosmetics, and it dries up pimples!
   What more could you ask for?! 🙂

   I use this every night on my face. First I cleanse with Noxzema then I use rubbibg alcohol then witch hazel. I have very oily skin and since I have been using this, there has been absolutely no oil on my face all day. I know some people think this is harming to skin, but this is my HG for nightly cleansing. I will definitely keep purchasing and using.

   I am not sure why this is listed under “Lip treatments”… However, I do use it for something that many people may consider completely ridiculous.
   My dad and other people in my parents have somewhat swore by this as a fix-all remedy (old-fashioned)… BUT, I started using this many years ago as a toner on my face after cleansing at night… Higher alcohol percentage leads to a burning sensation at times, but I swear that this is the only thing that keeps my oily/acne-prone skin clear. Afterwards, always make sure to use a moisturizer to add back moisture that has been taken away by using this product.

    Best HG product I have found for my skin! After being plagued by Folliculitis on my face and not wanting to keep going on antibiotics (caused by Staph bacteria) I searched for something to kill the bacteria and found that the ointment Bactroban works for it but is prescription only (didn’t want to pay co-pay to see Dr. just for a slip of paper). I finally stumbled on the fact that rubbing alcohol kills staph and every other type of bacteria, so started using it as a daily toner. It worked really well but the fumes stung my eyes. Then I diluted it with half water, half rubbing alcohol and it is still working very well! Didn’t notice any difference in the full-strength vs. half strength. Didn’t know about the cold sore thing til I read the other reviews on here, but will definitely be trying that too! Definitely recommend. Best skin bacteria killer out there! And cheap as dirt!
