I have 10 Face of Australia (FoA, cruelty free) polishes. They have exceptional formulas (1-2 easy coats), and all, except for the metallic, I absolutely love and will continue to wear. They use the standard no-complaints brush (similar to China Glaze, not wide, average size/length) and don’t wear or chip easily. Dry time is a little longer than average.
I do apply a fast dry top coat (Hawley’s Fast Dry Top Coat), I always wear a strengthening base coat (the excellent, long-lasting, W7 Harder & Tuffer), plus I always ‘cap my tips’ by running a little polish over the nail’s free edge after each coat.
FoA have a small core collection of about 10 crowd-pleasing colours (still, I’d love it if they expanded their permanent rage) and their limited edition collections are superb (I wish I’d started collecting polish 2-3 years ago, to get all of the ltd edition creams)!
I own (Core Collection):
‘Cool Cotton’: Standard white cream, opaque in 2 coats, shiny finish.
‘No Angel’: Yellow/pink-toned apricot-nude, flattering, 2 coats, shiny.
‘Champagne Kiss’: Light peachy, nude pink, 2 coats, shiny.
From Ltd Edition Collections:
‘Miss Congeniality’: Very opaque, stark white cream, 1 coat, a little patchy (still wearable), 2 for total opacity, semi-matte (2015 Iconic Miss Universe Aust. Ltd. Ed.)
‘Beauty Queen’: Light beige-toned nude, similar to Essie Sand Tropez, but lighter and more pink, less grey, 2 coats, shiny (2015 Iconic)
‘Backstage Beauty’: Slightly darker than BQ, with more brown/orange tones, 2 coats, shiny (2015 Iconic)
‘She’s a Diva’: Vibrant, bit of a neon-pastel, coral with more orange than pink, 2 coats, shiny (2015 Iconic)
‘Pageant Queen’: Vibrant, similar to SaD, but with more pink than coral, very flattering, 2 coats, shiny (2015 Iconic)
‘Don’t Judge Me!’: Black cream, very opaque, 1 coat, shiny (2015 Iconic)
‘Summer Breeze’: Stormy purple-grey metallic, does show brush-strokes, needs 2 coats, shiny, bit flat/dull on the nail (2015 Calypso Bay Ltd Ed.)
