I bought this primer ages ago, stopped using it, and then recently dug it out of my makeup drawer to try again. It is so great. I have very oily skin, and this did such a good job of controlling my oil. Not completely, but I was able to go much longer throughout the day before I had to blot, and even then, I would normally just blot once and then was good for several more hours. I have large pores, and this did some to cover that up, but this was the one area where it kind of fell off and after a few hours my pores were fairly visible again. Otherwise, this is a great primer, and while I love to try new products, I can see myself easily coming back to this one.

Got as sample from Sephora and am now thinking I need to buy a full size. This is a summertime must for me now. It really cuts down on the oil and I have had no breakouts.
I was skeptical b/c silicones are never good for my skin, but this has changed my mind. I use very little and only in my t-zone and it’s been amazing. Really does what it says, love it.

I didn’t like the way it made my skin feel. It felt like I had an mask on my face. My makeup didn’t apply that well, and it actually made my makeup fade even faster. Also did nothing to control oil/shine.

I’m starting to realise that smoothing a bunch of silicones over my skin isn’t going to do anything positive for its look or feel. As ever, this dimethicone product felt greasy and made my skin slippery and congested. To be honest, I don’t think I really need primer anyway – my skin produces just enough oil to prevent longwearing foundations from looking opaque and masky; makeup adheres well to my moisturiser-only skin. I’m going to stop wasting my time and money.

I have oily skin. My forehead gets so oily during the day. I have tried several primers and nothing has helped. I received a sample of this from sephora a while back ago and just recently began using it. I am so impressed. This really helps contail the oil & shine. Leaves my skin very soft & velvety. The tube is small but you only need a tiny amount so it will last a long time. I been using the sample for about 2 weeks. This is now a must for me. Very happy with it

Worked great for me. I have really oily skin and usually need to blot a few times a day. I used a tiny amount of this product under my makeup and didn’t need to blot all day long.
UPDATE: Made me break out so i returned it. I’ve realized that any product that fills your pores and prevents oil is probably not so good for your skin. So i’ll just stick to blotting papers from now on. 🙂

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews here…I absolutely ADORE this product and cannot live without it! My t-zone is oily on its own, but the problem is only exacerbated by make-up. I used to consider it a “good day” when I only had to do one powder touch-up before noon. I tried many different mattifiers and blotting powders, but nothing even comes CLOSE to this one. I put a tiny bit on my t-zone area after moisturizer and before my powder foundation, and I am completely matte the entire day! It makes my pores disappear in a way I didn’t know they could. It even helps my make-up go on smoother. The tube does seem small, but since you only need a little bit, it lasts for a long time. This is a miracle product for me!!

I’m really impressed with this. I got a sample from Sephora and after using it a couple of days went ahead and ordered the full-size product. It does a better job of controlling shine than any other similar product I’ve used. Usually my forehead is an oil slick by lunch time, but Welcome Matte reduced visible shininess by at least 80%. It also does a great job of making pores appear smaller. I will definitely be adding this to my everyday routine. UPDATE: After using for a bit longer, I’m even more in love. Totally an HG product for me. I’ve discovered that using it after I put on makeup (as opposed to before) reduces shininess even more.

I have combination skin and visible pores on my cheeks and chin. I put this on after applying my make-up. It makes my pores appear smaller and makes my skin look more velvety. It matifies my shiny nose and chin. It doesn’t last all day, but it looks good for several hours. A little goes a long way. At $23 for a tube, it is a decent value.

Got a sample of this product with an order from Sephora… It feels really nice on skin, but it draws attention to dry areas by accentuating flaking. My skin isn’t that dry, so I can’t imagine what this would look like on someone who really had problem skin. I don’t even see any improvements in my skin regardless of the flaking, so I wouldn’t recommend this product.
