I’ve been using this for a while now and I think I’m going to be rebuying this many times as I have yet to find another emulsion/light moisturizer that settles and works as nice as this one!
Japanese Emulsion are basically supposed to be light moisturizer – it’s supposed to go on after Lotion (which is actually a toning water/liquid) and serum, but before any creams or heavier moisturizer. Japanese ladies are very particular about their skin thus you’ll find that a typical Japanese/Asian skincare routine usually involves a good 4-5 products just for the moisturizing/protection side (nevermind the cleansing part).
I am Asian with very oily skin and I really like this emulsion, particularly for summer and day time. During winter when it’s dryer and at night time, I usually layer on a separate moisturizer cream (Olay right now because I need to finish it, but I’ve also used the cream from the same Sekkisei series in the past which I really like) to keep moisturizer over night (as I don’t really care of it gets kinda oily). During day time I do my skincare routine and end at this emulsion before moving on to the makeup portion (primer and foundation for example). This emulsion does not make my makeup oxidize or apply patchy, it dries on my face relatively fast and is clearly water based since it doesn’t clog my pores or make my skin look or feel oily at all. In fact it sinks into my skin very easily with no hassle or a need to sit and wait 5 minutes.
this is somewhat of a gel-like feel, I didn’t notice it being sticky after being applied though. It goes on me with a water gel like consistency, applies smoothly, and dries/sinks into my skin fast with not very much of a residue – any left over basically just feels l like I applied a light moisturizer and in fact feels rather smooth. Those who reported stickiness, I’m wondering if the batch is bad or has expired? it just seem strange that this would be reported as sticky.
That said, everyone have different skintype of course, so it might be that it reacts on different skin differently. I have never broken out from using this or anything else in the series, thankfully, so I will likely continue using this.
This is scented but it’s a pretty light scent and the scent does not linger. the fragrance has never irritated my nose or my skin. The Lotion (kesshousui) in this same series, however, has a stronger scent – I actually really like the scent and since the lotion never broke me out either, I love it as well.

Before this emulsion I used shiseido the skincare day protective moisturizer (now I use it every early evening after shower). Since the weather changed, it’s hot in the morning and even hotter during the day. So I need a moisturizer which can absorb fast and not over moistured, not feeling too greasy or sticky because even my skin is a little dehydrated yet sensitive but it tends to be oily at noon. And this emulsion is exactly just like what I’m looking for.
I use it after lotion and only need 1pump on a cotton pad. It absorbs and give enough moisture. And I use sunscreen after that. I hope after long term usage it will help me to fade some red spots on my cheek *fingercrossed!

This moisturizer feels light but it’s actually very oily. It broke me out each time I use it.

I never expect much from this product actually when i first bought it..as it a christmas set and they are doing promotion so i was thinking no harm trying. I fall in love with this product when i first use it especially when i used it and the next day i woke up in the morning, my face was so moisturize and bright. I suggest you apply everynight before you sleep especially if you have dry skin like me. It works!

I really like this serum..because it seems to moisturize the skin really well.. However, it can cause acne for oily or combination skin..so I make sure that my skin is not too oily or I use a toner and benzyl peroxide acne cream for spots.. I would recommend this product as best for people with dry-combination spurts or dry skin. The packaging and the product consistency makes it pretty easy to get the product out of a near-empty bottle. The product price itself is a bit pricy but a little can go a long way.

When i used this product straight after cleansing without any serum, it didn’t absorb into my skin effectively and I could feel my skin greasy but it didn’t cause any break out. Now i am using innisfree serum before the sekkisei emulsion, i found it can absorb in my skin quickly and the skin is moisturized. I am not sure whether it’s the serum that helps. Anyway, I will try to search for other product to replace it after finishing this bottle.

I got this almost 2 years ago and I’m not even half way through it. I genuinely have no idea what it does for my skin. It doesn’t whiten, doesn’t really moisturise on its own. It tends to break me out badly. It does not absorb into your skin cos it’s just sits there and dries into a sticky layer. Some people have recommended using it as a lotion mask (soaking pill mask in the lotion), but I haven’t really seen any remarkable improvement to the fairness/even-ness of my skintone. Though i gotta admit, it does make my face feel a bit more “juicy”.
Lastly, i realised it tend to give me a lot of blackheads when I use it. is it really just me??
I noticed it has a very strong smell of alcohol so I’m a bit concerned. Overall I really hated the stickiness of it, and I wouldn’t recommend you buy it if stickiness is a major pet peeve in skincare product.

This emulsion has a nice smell, it is soft, feels good on skin BUT it broke my skin on the next day, I got cystic acne and spent a lot $$ and used the Neutrogene Sking Clearing Toner everyday to get rid of the problem. Be aware this is one crap product that it is expensive.

This emulsion comes in a watery, almost gel like texture with minimal fragrance. Upon application, my face felt slightly sticky, but my skin drank every single bit of it. Doesn’t make my skin feel oily, but it definitely does not leave my skin matte as described by previous reviewers.
It’s a great product if you’re looking for a hydrating series of moisturiser. Pretty expensive product, I believe that there are other comparable brands out there that delivers similiar results. No noticeable difference in brightening as well.

I just use this for my eyes area. Very moisturizing, more than the kose rice extract cream. My fine lines disappear instantly.
