This is a light conditioner that does add some volume to my fine, dry hair. This contains silicones, silk and amino acid proteins and vitamin B5. However, I do not feel that this offers any conditioning benefits to my hair and actually leaves my hair feeling dryer. What I like much better than this is Matrix Biolage Full-Density Conditioner.

Most shampoos and conditioners that are made to give volume have a very similar formula as “shampoo for oily hair”, as usually it’s the oil that prevents the hair from showing its full potential about volume, most if not all volume shampoos also lack thick ingredients like heavy oils so the hair won’t weigh down. This conditioner is for volume and indeed it doesn’t make my hair get softer, buuuut….
My hair is in a better style now! The first time I used this conditioner I thought maybe it was coincidence that my natural waves looked better. But after using it for 4-5 times now I’m pretty sure it’s related to the conditioner because nothing else I did when drying my hair and my shampoo was different, the only difference was the conditioner. I also really liked the scent.
It’s a winner product for me.

A good conditioner, but I wish it could give some more moisture. The smell is good and it is a good conditioner for every day use. Hair gets shiny and it does not weigh down the hair. My brittle ends need a bit more care than this gives me.

I have very fine, color-treated hair and this product did not work at all in my hair. It was okay for a while after I washed it, but over the course of time my hair became knotty (which my hair has a tendency to do when I do not use a heavier conditioner). The smell is really nice, but overall I feel that the consistency of the conditioner is too light and does not actually condition. My hair does not feel smooth afterwards. Since I have the finest hair out of all people I know, I cannot imagine who could actually use this conditioner and get the desired result.

I bought the volumizing over the hydrating conditioner even though the hydrating conditioner was the one recommended. (On Curlmart the Elucence Hydrating conditioner was recommended and Kenra makes Elucence.) I’m happy I did. The volumizing adds plenty of moisture to my fine wavy hair but doesn’t weigh it down. My waves are bouncy but not laden with too much oomph. I have fine 2A hair. It’s a fine line for me. This will not be enough moisture for a lot of people but for me it is a great conditioner. Same nice peachy scent as the shampoo. And this is very reasonably priced compared to lines like Pureology.

Fortunately I bought this during Beauty Brands liter sale, so only paid $13. The Volumizing conditioner did make my hair soft and didn’t weigh it down, BUT there was no volumizing to be had. To the older gals, do you remember Tame conditioner? THAT’S what I want a volumizing conditioner to do! The Kenra Volumizing conditioner is a fine conditioner but at least for me, there was no volumizing.

I really loved the bottle and smell of this conditioner (specially of shampoo). I was so excited to try it.. and then what a huge dissapointment! I had to use extra amount of this conditioner but still my hair were tangly and rough, I could not brush my fingers through! I had to use another conditioner after.. So no, I will never buy it again, I just returned it at Ulta.
UPDATE: It broke me out right around the hairline! I believe I have an allergic reacton to some of the ingredients, either sulfates or parabens.

I have grown to love Kenra products since my stylist uses them on my hair. It’s my secret to having “just came from the salon” hair. This volumizing conditioner is great for my normally oily hair. I get great volume from this and the smell is terrific. I do agree with the other reviewers that this has a tendency to build up, but nothing that a clarifiying shampoo once a week can’t fix!

This conditioner just didn’t work out for me. Used it with the shampoo which I also reviewed and wasn’t fond of. This conditioner still caused me to have tangles in my hair and also weighed it down. I’ve had much better volumizing conditioners than this. It did keep my color from fading though. But just wasn’t what I was expecting.

I originally bought the product because it was on sale and i was tired of paying so much for redken. this worked great the first couple of weeks i used it. now, i think its weighing down my hair. i do find that i get less split ends and visible damage. also, i do like the smell. it does have guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, which is one of the prefered volume enhancing substances, but i’d beware of wax build up. for this shampoo and conditioner, i’d use the combo for a couple of weeks and then switch to a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. great product, but use in small doses.

I have 2c, coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity and low-med density hair.
Since one of my staple styler (Suave Pro Captivating Curls Mousse) has -cones, I need a conditioner to cowash that has cetrimonium chloride (I’ve read several blog posts by bloggers with scientific background saying that cetac can wash away -cones), so I can still pretty much stick to CG routine.
Other than that, this conditioner also has BTMS and a slew of oils and additives that are good for hair. Now, my hair gets weighed down easy and can’t use much oils and/or butter, but this gives me volume, body, great shine and manageability and helps the styler to better define my hair.
I use this conditioner as cowash, rinse out and leave in. I don’t see the need to have separate products for each function since this conditioner alone does all really well.
It comes a bit splurgey with the way I use it, since it runs out in a month or less (I have a short bob). But I’d rather have one product that does multiple jobs really well at a bit more cost rather than having separate bottles. Besides, it’s still nothing compared to boutique brands for curly hair.
It used to be sold in both iHerb and Vitacost, but lately they’ve been out of stock and the product is marked discontinued. I hope that really isn’t the case and they will restock soon. This product is an HG for me.

Normally, a volumizing conditioner wouldn’t cut it for my dry hair, but this really works. My hair was shiny, in great condition, but still light and bouncy. This stuff smells really good too, and you can feel the contioning instantly — you dont need to let this sit for ages. Plus, IMO the ingredients are very good for the price: this usually sells for $12 per 10ish oz bottle, but I got 2 litres for $28 at Trade Secret recently. Good stuff. Best yet, my skin is really sensitive to ingredients in shampoos and conditioners, and no Kenra prod has ever broken me out.

Ever since coming off of Accutane, I’ve had a tough time with my hair. My hair is past my shoulders and thin. Prior to Accutane it was oily, now it’s drier than hay! I went from never conditioning to having to condition every day. I’m constantly on the lookout for a good conditioner that will untangle my newfound knots without weighing my hair down. Kenra Volumizing Conditioner is definitely great for not weighing my hair down. I use it every day, even when I don’t shampoo. It also untangles about 95% of my knots. If it would just get the last 5%, it would be perfect, but then it would probably weigh my hair down! Will I purchase Kenra Volumizing Conditioner again in the future? I would say yes!
