My skin has been HORRIBLE lately and it seems like I can never strike a balance between decongesting/exfoliating and not irritating it to death. I ignored this little sample for a while until I tried on a whim yesterday and ~holy crap~ it completely decongested my pores on my cheeks. I have never seen them like that except when I was on BCP years ago. I did not remove with the Clarisonic, just a washcloth.
Unfortunately my skin tends to be fickle so I’ll have to give it another go and I’ll update if it loses its charm. But for now this is amazing news.

This made my skin incredibly tight and induced clogged pores.
It’s a terrible product for sensitive skin!

I received a sample size of this mask at Dillards as a free gift when purchasing my Clariaonic. The mask has really thick consistency due to the clay as a main ingredient. I used this mask as a spot treatment on my trouble spots which are on my forehead right between my eyebrows and on my cheeks right beside my nose. I put it on my face for about 10 minutes and used my clarisonic to wash it off.
The next day my cheek areas felt very sensitive to touch and one felt very dry and flaky. But my more oily forehead looked radiant and felt fine. Id say only use on your oily areas or stay away from this completely if you have normal or dry skin.

I really like this clay mask when used in conjunction with the Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. You use this mask twice a week after cleansing and then remove it with your Clarisonic brush head (I don’t do a full cycle, and just wet my brush after rinsing away each region). When I follow the directions exactly, I do notice a big difference as opposed to just washing it off after fifteen minutes. For those of you wanting to try it, you should know that it does sting for the first several minutes, but it goes away. Also, make sure that when you are rubbing it in you really get into all your pores (it’s easy to see when you don’t with this mask as they will be incredibly obvious) and keep it away from your eyes. I also put it on with upward strokes, toward my hairline, so as to not pull at my skin. I personally recommend using it only at night. When I used it in the morning and then did my normal routine, my skin didn’t look as good as it normally does until about 6 hours later. Your skin needs time to recover, and using it at night allows this. Be sure to follow it with a good lotion, because even though it doesn’t leave you feeling dry, your skin needs the moisture after using something so strong.
All-in-all, I would highly recommend this mask. I can’t say it has changed my life (I’ve been using it for three weeks now), but it has helped improve my skin. Don’t let the high cost and small bottle ($27 for 2 oz) scare you away. After seven uses, I still have more than 3/4 of a bottle left. Oh, and one last thing. I have persistent blackheads around my mouth, and always have (blackheads and two annoying whiteheads). I push this mask probably a little too close to my mouth, but it has started to shrink those whiteheads and clear the blackheads! Everything I have tried in the 10+ years to get rid of those, and this is absolutely the only thing that has worked. Just be sure to follow with a good lip balm.
