This perfume is very characteristic of older rose perfumes; meaning it isn’t 100% rose, there is a musky undertone to it. Personally, I like scents that have more ‘masculine’ tones to it, so I dont mind the notes of bergamot, orris root, tonka, and vetivert(though, I personally really only notice the bergamot).
I don’t particularly love the packaging; it’s changed to a tin packaging and you really don’t get a whole lot in the tin.

The main notes of this perfume are orris, vetivert, rose, basil, tonka, amaretto seed, bergamot. There are also notes of amber and powder, and I could swear I smell a hint of patchouli, but I don’t see it listed in the notes.
Like others have mentioned, this comes off as smelling like an old fashioned powder from the 50s or 60s. Honestly, if I smelled this blindly without knowing what it was called, I would not peg this as a rose perfume. To me, the ambrette seed (musky, woody) and orris root (violet like) come through more than the rose. I’m familiar with the scent of various natural rose oils, and I’m just not detecting it here. Very old fashioned powdery type of a scent, but to my nose, the rose is lost.

This lovely creation came in a small tin & reminds me a bit of Karma solid or their deodorant that comes in blocks w the patchouli incense vibe. Something a chic world traveler would wear! & it just happens to be very portable travel friendly in a purse unless it’s 100° where you happen to be standing in the shade. I could also see this as being a little matronly like an elegant older boozy lady. To me it smells a bit like Coty Airspun loose powder too. Rose, powder, cream, patchouli, incense, honey/beeswax, ozone/rain, raw sexuality I just got this but I think it would be such a hit w men. The solid is very potent so I only need a little. This is so unique! Makes me feel sexy to wear it like I want to also blast Janis Joplin, Jimi, & Nirvana. Late night date night delight! I don’t see any innocence in this even if it was inspired by a child! I happen to have fallen in luv w every LUSH product I’ve ever purchased mainly coz of the scents & being cruelty free/Eco-friendly. I feel like these are my little treats to myself since their products don’t break the bank. I think an EDT would be way too strong but idk…

Lucky that I was patient and did not run and get this in LUSH graze but I sprayed it in the Lush store before buying because turns out I dont like it that much. I dont hate it but I really wanted something that smells like soft fresh roses without that powderyness. It starts really nicely like fresh roses but after a while it gets powdery and starts to remind me of Cacharel Anais Anais that I alreay have and try to get rid of becuase it is too strong and powdery for me now.

this is lovely…it’s not your typical rose scent. it smells like what i imagine a stylish lady for the 60s would have smelt like. it smells of roses yes, but there’s more to it than that. it smells powdery…as if someone was covered in baby powder and face powder, i like that. it’s not girly at all, and even though i’m fairly young i like that a lot, it smells of REAL roses…as if you went into a garden and it had just rained and you pick a rose that’s covered in rain and a bit of dirt…it smells of the countryside.

I was told that It is made from Turkish Roses. It smelled divine in the bottle such a wonderful rich Rose smell. When I sprayed it on it was fantastic however as the day wore on Yuck it got stronger and stronger on me. I was glad to finally wash it off. I would be willing to give it one more try maybe I put on too much.

I love rose scents so I really wanted to like this. To me the combination of damask roses and powder means it smells of my gran. Not like fresh roses at all. Not good and definitely not what I was hoping for.

I decided to purchase this perfume in the solid form. Should have just gotten a bottle since I’m really diggin’ this scent. I lean more toward Gourmand Jammy type Rose scents but, this one is really pretty….yet not all the way frou frou like most Roses tend to smell. Someone mentioned that this smells just like the Lush store right when you walk in….I concur. And you all know how good that paper Lush bag smells when you get home and pull them goodies out lol..like that! I think that’s why I like it….Lush and their paper bags smell great lol. It’s light, a bit powdery, feminine and naturally just not my thing per say, yet a welcome split from the norm. A great pick for spring.

I was very disappointed with this perfume. I tried some of the Lush solid perfumes a few years ago, but really didn’t like them. But I thought this would be good for travelling. As I don’t have a Lush shop near me I ordered them by mail order. They arrived today in a large, very strong cardboard box filled with those polystyrene worm-like things. Two tiny tubes of solid were lurking at the bottom. The miserable so-and-sos could at least have included some free samples! I was disappointed by the size of the tubes – I was expecting something the size of the Yardley solid perfumes. The perfume does not even fill the whole tube.
To start with I could notsmell rose at all, the overpowering smell seemed to be like old fashioned furniture polish, or that smell you get when you pass a Lush shop. However, later on it developed a powdery scent with a faint hint of rose. I like Stella, and the Avon Rose perfume, but this was very underwhelming. I will wear this but will not purchase again. I also bought Orange blossom which I have reviewed separately.

This is my favourite floral perfume. LUSH claims that the perfumer was inspired by his baby daughter and that’s what it smells like to me – baby powder and innocent, gentle rose. I don’t smell dirt or darkness or whatever – to me this is a cute, non-sexy perfume like soft pink knitting and prancing lambs.
