The only reason why I am giving this brush three lippies is because of the fact that the densely packed brush is one of the best brushes that I have used for serum foundations, and if you want a light-medium coverage for your face. Aside from that, the design of the brush makes this absolutely atrocious to clean, and the reservoir where you add the serum foundation makes it even more difficult to get rid of the build up of product . It took me a very long time to clean the brush, and I’m finding that I have to clean this brush more frequently than most brushes that I have used in the past.
Not particularly fond of the packaging of the brush as well; I understand the concept behind the reservoir in the brush, but maybe minimizing the base of the brush can provide for the same coverage, while making it easier to clean.

This brush is made from extremely densly packed short synthetic bristles and has, what the manufacturer calles, a ‘fluid reservoir’ in the middle of it. You pour your foundation into it and then it’s supposed to distribute the foundation evenly when applying it.
The brush is very gentle and feels great against the skin. It spreads the foundation evenly and makes it look natural and smooth. It works with any liquid foundation, not just mineral ones. I use it with Armani’s Luminous Silk and it does magic with it!
The problem is with the reservoir thingy as most of the foundation you pour into it will sink into the brush and it will take four times more product for what you would need if using your fingers. A better way of using this is by ignoring the reservoir, applying the foundation to your face and then just using the brush to spread it.
As for cleaning it, I suggest using a plain shampoo. These are synthetic bristles and shampoo won’t do any damage to them. I clean this brush every other day and nothing happened to it so far. Also, using the brush the way I suggested won’t leave it packed with foundation and it’s going to be way easier to clean.

I have the BareMinerals BareSkin Foundation so when I purchased that I went ahead and purchased the brush.
Brush bristles/overall design- The bristles on this brush feel different to any other brush I have, they are a lot smoother and they feel coated. The little crater in the brush works with the foundation dispensing and also works well with other liquid foundation. I like the handle and general look of the brush, however I do feel that the brush is small. I did find that with the mine, that the dip is not cut out very well. Its very rough.
How did it do?- When I first brought this I loved it, as you can tell from the review I linked above. It applied the foundation well, didn’t look streaky, and did a good job of blending the foundation together. Over time though the brush feels like it has absorbed the foundation and it feels very coated like, and even if I spot clean it, it doesn’t take the feeling away, it feels like I am apply foundation from the day before, which is of course not ideal. The brush for me is small, and it takes me longer to apply this then I would if I had a bigger brush. I have not noticed any bristles falling out as of yet, just remember that you if may be the way clean/dry brush as to why that happens.
Cleaning the brush-
I found that the BareSkin foundation stuck to the bristles of the brush, like a kind of glue. The fibers of the brush are really strange, and not like other normal brushes. I also used some other liquid foundations with it and it also stuck so its the brush, not the foundation. This brush is so hard to clean, even if you do a quick clean, hardly anything comes off. Deep cleaning this was so difficult. The only way I could clean it was to get my fingers right down to the base which miss placed the fibers.
Price-£24.00 which is normal for mid-high range cosmetic company’s. I was happy to pay the price for this brush.
Overall- I don’t usually buy expensive brushes as I simply don’t believe in expensive brushes. If you want to buy this to go with the BareSkin foundation then I do think the the bucket bit in the brush works with how the foundation is dispensed, but personally after using this with the BareSkin with the brush I don’t think it is necessary that you buy it or that it is the best brush for the foundation. As far as I am concerned I think it is a bit of gimmick. If the brush stayed like it did when I first purchased it then I would be happy, but the brush simply isnt worth it, for that price you would expect it to deal well and last well. However it is nice feeling using something that is made for something else, if you get what I mean! But for the long haul I don’t think its worth it,very very unpractical.I would not purchase this again.

I love this brush. It’s like having a really agreeable pet who doesn’t mind being rubbed all over your face. It feels wonderful. I don’t like the foundation it was designed to go with at all. There’s so much pigment in it that no matter how carefully you blend, you’re going to look like you’re wearing a Noh mask.
I digress. No, chronically. The brush works well with the tinted moisturizer I use (Laura Mercier); it spreads the product very evenly and smoothly so that it doesn’t sit on top of my skin. My skin looks like…skin tone, not make-up. I also like it for applying straight up sunscreen, if it’s titanium oxide based. The even distribution helps avoid that Lt. Data look.

I purchased this brush several months ago.
It was very expensive (for me!), but I was determined to
try it as I had seen the ads on TV and thought that the
concept behind it was brilliant.
The brush works great – I use it with a Clinique foundation.
But, the bristles are so tightly packed together that it is
impossible to clean – even with two different name brand
make-up brush cleaners.
I would not buy another one of these brushes – too pricey
and too hard to clean.

I love this brush for use with liquid foundation.
It is soft but firm enough to buff a nice foundation finish. Bare Minerals markets this brush with their “new” liquid foundation which is, indeed, a liquid and quite runny.
The “well” deisgn allows you to pour a small amount of foundation into the center of the brush.
Minus 1 lippie for 2 reasons – 1 the price ($28 – not horrible but not cheap!) and 2 – it’s a bitch to clean.

I will start by saying that this is a very unique brush, as is the foundation for which is was made. It has a divot or well in the center of the top/face. This well is designed to hold the serum foundation and prevent it from seeping/sinking/being absorbed by/into the brush, so no product is wasted; this is a very clever idea because most foundations as runny/liquidy as the new BareSkin would do just that. I don’t know if the well is absolutely necessary, though; since the bristles are so densely packed together, the foundation would probably just sit atop the bristles with no problem. The bristles are very very densely packed which I LOVE! I need medium-full coverage, and brushes that are dense like this one provide my ideal coverage more easily (I don’t have to keep applying layers of product). This denseness, however, makes it difficult to thoroughly clean the brush with soap and water and to dry in a decent amount of time. I suppose since the hairs do not soak up the foundation, only surface cleaning is necessary (maybe just wiping it with cleansing wipes after each use). The bristle length is short, which also attributes to precise application and fuller coverage. The handle length and width are fine. The hairs are very soft, not scratchy like many other bareminerals brushes. I feel like I should mention that the well on mine is smaller in circumference than most of the pictures I’ve seen of this brush; the other brushes I saw, like the one the Ulta SA used to shade match me, were the same way (smaller). I can’t make up my mind as to whether this is better or worse, or maybe doesn’t make a difference.
Overall, I’m not 100% sure if this is the absolute only brush you should use with this foundation. There is one I was going to get to use with this and my other foundations/bb cream (Tweezerman Brush iQ flat top foundation brush, looks just like this one except no well), but this brush was only $2 more and was made specifically for this foundation, so I went with it instead. My logic when buying this brush was this: if you’re going to spend $29 (that’s expensive for me) on a unique foundation like BareSkin, and you want the best method of application that will provide the best coverage (because this foundation can look very bad if not applied correctly IMO), you might as well buy the brush that was specifically designed for the foundation, or just use your fingers (cuz that’s free).
