This was my all time fav eye product and color wise it’s still is. The negativity of this review will be only important for a poor consumers from the countries which don’t accept return of the makeup… I’ve repurchased it many many times, the color is perfect cold brown which looks amazing with my weird grey-green-a bit yellow chameleon eyes. The problem was poor packaging, I got the bad one 🙁 It is retractable pencil and after top product finished I’ve realised it was broken, it was all full. I got so frustrated and didn’t repurchase it for 3 years but couldn’t find anything more satisfying. Maybe it’s time for my forgiveness? It’s perfect for minimal look, stayed good no smudges on my eyelids even during the hot hot summer. Miss you so much, Clinique Quickliner in Smoky Brown…

I have mature skin and this may work best on those with younger skin. I do not recommend for aging eyelids.
Pros:
Beautiful, soft, cool brown — but I could not get a defined line on the upper lid. Looked fine on the lower lash line only.
Cons:
Too soft for defining. Difficult to apply to upper lash line.
Skipped and dragged. Did not apply smoothly which I will attribute to skin type.
Slight sheen rather than matte.

I have bought this eyeliner several times now. The color is one of the best I have found for my cool-toned, fair coloring and blue/green/gray eyes. It defines without being too harsh. It is a soft, taupey, gray brown. It goes on very smoothly and the little smudger on the other end is very helpful! On me, it lasts all day, but I have dry skin and most liners don’t smudge or fade too much on me. If you want a sharper line, you can “sharpen” this pencil, by kind of pressing the end of the pencil into a point by twirling it on a piece of paper or tissue. This wastes some product but so does sharpening a regular pencil. It gets it as sharp as I want it this way though.
Overall, this is an HG for me and I will definitely keep buying it as long as they make it!

I recently had LASIK surgery and this has been my go to liner post surgery. Very gentle, easily removed with the Clinique remover. Color lasts well, faded after 10+ hours of wear.

i only bought this product today and had the woman in the shop to kindly do a test. The first thing i noticed was how soft it was on your eyelid and that it wasnt too hard on your eye. Unforteunately due to health and hygiene they couldnt use the sponge half of it which i thought would be what would happen. The next thing i noticed then was the packaging which i thought was very much like the soap and glory eyebrow encil which i thought looked amazing. When i looked in the mirror i realised that i prefered the smoky brown color than the black because i have dark undereye circles and the brown didnt really bring it out. It gave a very smokey effect almost as if i was wearing eyeshadow which i loved. Would deffo reccommend!

I picked this up at Sephora a few days ago, I wanted a pretty pinkish taupe color and this seemed to fit the bill pretty well despite the fact that it’s name Smoky Brown?! Well, the color is absolutely gorgeous, hence 1 lippie. The application is nice and smooth too with no tugging or pulling, it glides on well especially on the lower lash line which gets another lippie. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end.
First of all this flakes terribly, I usually don’t have that issue with other eyeliners and this after only 8+ hours at work. Also, the sponge-tip that came on the other end of the eyeliner is very rough and hurt the sensitive skin under my eyes. Even when used super lightly it just seems to rub the eyeliner off instead of smudging or blending it out. Overall I’d say I’ll probably be passing this one on to a friend and won’t be repurchasing another Clinique Quickliner for Eyes. It’s a shame since I’m a fan of Clinique products!

The first thing I noticed when applying this product is that it’s more grey than brown, which has pros and cons depending on what you need. It’s not overly red like a lot of browns and it’s less intense than black eyeliner.
It’s not too difficult to apply, but be careful since the end does not retract and can break easily. I’ve noticed that it can also be a bit flaky, but otherwise looks pretty good. One other issue I had was with the smudging tool, it tended to take off the eyeliner all together for me instead of smudging. With effort this does create a great smoky look due to the color of the product.
Although there are a lot of issues with application, generally I like the result of the product so I will continue to buy it until I find something I like better.

I just came back to this after a few years of cycling through the Sephora brands. It’s hard to beat this color for subtlety, yet with enough presence to be worth it. It’s great for cool skin tones, being grey-brown and not reddish. It’s great for the lower lash line. It has a touch of shimmer and I just love it. I have noticed the complaints about the packaging, and I do seem to recall from way back that the pencil would sometimes break. But it’s still a great color. It’s not very precise but it is forgiving.

This eyeliner worked okay for me, but I wish it didn’t fade after a few hours. It is kind of difficult to apply because the tip is hard and breaks a lot. I found that the design if the pencil is annoying, because it gets stuck a lot. Over all, I wouldn’t buy this product again. Hope this helps!

This is the pencil I’ve been searching for. The color is flattering on my blue-green eyes, and it stays on for several hours (best results achieved when I’ve used powder shadow as a base). It glides on quite easily, too. I prefer automatic pencils to those needing sharpening, so that’s a plus. Will repurchase, probably this weekend!
