Edit: Ultimately, this irritates my eyes just a tiny bit, and for that, I cannot recommend it, although I will probably use up what I have. (Probably the bismuth oxychloride as the last ingredient.)
Original review. I’m 46, trying not to spend too much money on makeup, celiac, rosacean and PPP. I also have eyes that can’t handle powders. This ended up being what I use every single day. It doesn’t break me out, and more importantly, it never irritates my eyes. It also seems to make rosacea better–it doesn’t irritate or cause acne, at all. It covers broken capillaries and leaves a long-lasting, professional looking finish.
I started researching this online. Real Simple includes it in their, best-of-ever cosmetics, because it really doesn’t contain bad ingredients.
As far as shade goes–if NARS Siberia is your best color, the lightest color is a tiny bit too dark. I wear it in Classic Porcelain. (Soft Ivory is a slightly darker shade.)
Imperfections aside, if you are looking for something that actually won’t hurt your skin, not just cover it up,and something that stays on–this is HG.

So, I’m not a huge foundation kind of girl, but I had to admit the price of this product caught my eye. $5 is an inexpensive price for a foundation. This foundation is (obviously compact) and it comes with a mirror and a sponge, which is a big bonus for me. The foundation itself is rich & creamy in consistency. It applies kind of thickly, but I found using a brush to blend it out more helps lots. So far, I’m very impressed with this foundation. I like the fact that it’s not matte when it’s applied, but also not too dewy, either. It;s a nice in between. Thee only reason why I only gave it four lippies is because I already hit pan with it within a week. But, it’s definitely worth trying.

Holy grail foundation! WOW! This stuff is a godsend! I have never had much luck with cream compacts before, but I needed something with more coverage and better staying power so I picked this up at my local Ulta. I have extremely dry skin with moderate acne scarring so my goals were two things: 1- to find a heavy duty, full coverage foundation that doesn’t stick to my dry spots and 2- to give me a fresh, smooth, FLAWLESS face and canvas for the rest of my makeup. This product truly delivers on both! It feels lightweight and airy when applied which I absolutely love (I hate the feeling of cakey makeup). I spray my sponge lightly with water to damped it before use. Then I dab into the cream and stipple it into my skin. This method and foundation combination is just flawless on my skin. The best part is you can layer for more intense, nighttime coverage or just apply lightly for daytime. Either way results are the same; glowing, fresh looking, even toned and smooth skin! Exactly what I’ve been searching for! The staying power is phenomenal as well. I put this on at 8am and had a 7hr drive to a wedding and it lasted all day and through dancing all night long! If there was ever a product to give 5 lippies to, it’s Ulta’s Fabulous Face cream compact. I died and went to smooth faced heaven! ðŸ˜

I found this on sale at Ulta for $5, so decided to try it. I’m actually very impressed. I purchased it in Classic Ivory, which is pretty much a exact match for my N4 complexion. It comes with a small sponge, but you can use whatever you like to apply. It blends easily and goes on consistently…it doesn’t oxidize, and it gives a soft satin finish. It is buildable for problem areas, but it will streak and get patchy if you don’t blend well. Less is more with this product. I can see using this on a regular basis, providing Ulta doesn’t discontinue it. The only “flaw” I can think of is the compact. The mirror is underneath the product, where the sponge is stored. If for some reason you need to use the mirror, you have to keep flipping the product pan up and down to apply more foundation…very annoying. Otherwise, a more than decent product. Oil free for those who watch for those things. I have dry skin, but I didn’t notice this picking up any flaky patches, nor did it highlight fine lines or pores.

I got this product “free” at Ulta with my 4 points reward. Most of the foundations were picked over and this was the only one in a color I could probably wear. I got nude beige. When I first used it I really liked the texture and it made me look younger. However, the color is too neutral for me. I have a lot of gold in my skin (basically NC 15-10, but more gold). So, I mixed it with an Avon product, shade adjuster in warm. This makes it the foundation really great. I just mix a drop of the shade adjuster with the foundation on a foundation brush, on the back of my hand. then I stipple it on my face and blend with my fingers. This stuff really lasts and seems to smooth out the tension in my face and take away some of the careworn look that seems to come with the passage of time. I gave it a 4 because they didn’t seems to have spaces for a lot of colors and the foundation fell out of the case by the second use.

I had ZERO hopes for this product working. I got a recommendation from someone on the MUA boards because I was looking for an oil-free full coverage foundation that was similar to Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse that I loved but broke me out. This review isn’t for the Fab Face in a bottle, it is for the COMPACT foundation which was 2 for $10 when I was in Ulta about a month ago. Blow away by the price because I ended up loving it! I apply it with my Coco Beau Fat Firm Foundation brush which is a paddle foundation brush but super thick and dense. I think the foundation works well with a sponge as well. I pat the foundation on to my face and don’t really need to blend it except for around the brows and lips. It is a very buildable foundation as well so you can kind of choose your coverage. One complaint I have is the shade selection! I am fair-medium and in the summer I could go for medium but all of the shades are too light and pinkish. I am cool toned so I like some pink but these are very very cool toned. I have the Classic Beige and the shade below it and I find that Classic Beige is good enough. I have to use a medium toned powder over it though because my face is lighter than my neck if I use it on its own. I like the way it applies so much that I deal with the crappy shade selection. I either use Laura Geller Balance N’ Brighten or my Korres Mineral Powder over it to set it because I don’t find it to be extremely long wearing. It does the job though and for that price, I can’t complain really. Oh, and its OIL FREE! So those of you that loved the Maybelline Dream Smooth but it broke you out or made you oily/greasy, you may do better with the Ulta Fabulous Face. I don’t know how much it differs from the regular bottle foundation but I have to say the compact foundation is awesome. Will repurchase again and again.
