These are great, affordable nail polishes that last and don’t chip any more than say essie does. They have a good colour selection and testers, plus its not going to set you back if you don’t like the colour 🙂

I am surprised at the quality of nail polishes form Sportsgirl. I’m not a huge fan of their clothes; really I only go there for the nail polishes. The colour payoff is excellent and they are pretty long lasting.

Sportsgirl nail polishes are one of my favourite brands, I probably have about 15 bottles. They are super smooth, last up to a week and have beautiful, on-trend colours. The best part is the majority of the colours will eventually go on sale for 2.99, which makes them a steal! I have tried many OPI polishes and must say I prefer Sportsgirl, they seem smoother and thicker, and last a lot longer with out chipping. I’m constantly nipping to SG to see what new colours are on sale, haha.

I always wait for my Sportsgirl polishes to be discounted to at least $2.00AUD before I would consider buying them LOL!(how cheap am I?). Anyways quality wise, they are not too bad, I dont have acrylic nails, soo my polishes dont last that long on my nails in general(doesn’t matter which brand!) .
These polishes comes in a range of either very exhilerating colours, to very girly pinks, pastel, glitters and neutrals, to nice earthy tones.
These dry extremly fast, but I guess that is standard for most polishes now.
My polishes starts to chip and flake after about 3 days. They dont stain my nails at all, and no, I dont wear any base coats or top coats, I cant be bothered to go through all those stage, just to get some colours on your nails for a big night out.
I now top and base coats could help make my polishes last longer on my nails, but in my field of work even if they dont start chipping soon, usually on a Sunday night I have to remove it anyways.
I know a lot of polishes start to go off inside their bottle, but i have never had that problem with mine!

I think I’m addicted to these polishes. Brilliant colour pay off, glossy finish, last 3 or 4 days (depending on whether or not I manicure properly). They do have a tendency to stain, as does any polish though, so use a bascoat.
Cherry is my current HG red. With my colouring (fair, freckly, pink undertones) I have to stay away from berry/pink tones so this red is spot on for me. I adore orange-reds and this fits the bill. The name is misleading, in my mind anyway. When I see ‘cherry’ I think deep, rich red not fire-engine-orangey-red.
Within the space of a week I bought: cherry;ballerina, caribbean;strike a pose; nude; and one of the charity ones, blush or something like that.
My favourite is Cherry by far, mostly because I bought the others with very particular colours in mind and they don’t quite match. i.e. I wanted a light blue and caribbean is too green; I wanted a pastel pink but Ballerina is too bright and Blush is too white. I will definitely still wear them though because they are such great colours in themselves. I haven’t used Strike a Pose yet because when I tested it at home, it wasn’t the bright pop of magenta I was hoping it would be.
I love the high-rotation of colours that sportsgirl does – it means you can pick one pretty much every time you go in there and they always will have the ‘colour of the minute’. Unfortunately if you fall in love with a colour (i.e. cherry), chances are it won’t be around when its time for a new bottle so its probs a good idea to stock up.
EDIT: writing this review convinced me to try Strike a Pose last night and I have to say I really like it. Same reliably-smooth application, opaque in one coat (although I had to add a second this morning because I didnt let my basecoat dry properly and so woke up with subsequent sheet imprints). I’m suprised about how nice this berry tone looks against my skin tbo, didnt expect that at all. I think this will compliment my winter wardrobe nicely too.

Bought this in the tutti frutti shade (which is a medium pink-peachy colour) and I have to say I’m amazed at the quality! Opaque colour with just one coat and no chips for about 2 days or so. Applies well without streaking despite my exceptional ability to always stuff up my polish application. Plus, it also dries fast which means less room for error! Great product can’t wait to try out all the other shades!

at first i was hesitant about these polishes, but went crazy and tried 10 different colours at sportsgirl on my nails with intent to see how they held up at work (i work with my hands in water most of the day). surprisingly the colour was quite opaque even after 1 coat and they dried without streaks and quite fast too. the colour range always changes and you can pick these up for rrp $7.95 (aus), i currently have Hawaii-five-o (blue), envy (green) and lavender and can say these are fast becoming my fav cheap polishes =)

I have almost 10 of these. I love them for their extensive range, they change their colours quite frequently as well! They last pretty well (2-3 days without cracking) and need about 2 to 3 coats. They are cheap ($9.95) and are often on sale at about $4.95, sometimes even 95c. I’ve tried higher end brands (Kit, Opi) and personally I’d prefer them, but at such a cheap price I’d definitely repurchase and recommend.

I always though their nail polishes are bad because they came from clothes chain store. But after reading a rave comment on vogue forum I decided to give it a try. I was impressed! The colour is quite intense and goes on smoothly. Plus theie colour range is amazing and they keep coming up with new colours! Some of them are very similar to high-end brands like chanel. Today I pickes up one in Apple which is a cool opaque green without shimmer and Balerina which is an opaque light pink! I’ll update on lasting quality!
