I decided to splurge and buy this palette at Sephora when I saw the beautiful shimmer shades. The Lolita palette consists of brown/neutral shades. There are some mattes, some shimmers, and a glittery champagne shade. I bought this palette specifically for the shimmer shades. I’m pale and these colors are very flattering on me. The price is high for what you get. The eyeshadows are small. I love the blendability and color payoff. This is my first Marc Jacobs palette. I like it but I don’t love it.

If you want to spoil yourself with a gorgeous thing to possess you need The Lolita! From its luxe black lacquer packaging (the clasp does look like it could break?) to the mix of matte & lightly frosted shades along w a beautiful glitter shade in the middle which I’m still experimenting w/. That shade has some moderate fall out but the others blend well & are quite opaque which I was expecting them to be a lot more sheer which was a good thing I don’t like sheer shadows. I normally use Clinique touch base in canvas as my primer & these Lolita e/s stuck well to the lid. High quality. These are a bit greyish & cool taupe & im NC20 but it ends up being pretty universally flattering. The darkest shade I use as eyeliner (it’s exactly like Loreal Matte Matic in Taupe Grey or NYX Taupe eyeliners. It makes a good tightlining shade). All in all I got this as a gift & I was torn between Dreamer/Lolita & I am certain I’d have been happy w either but Lolita isn’t ur average nude palette as it leans more greyish. The shades are unique! So pretty! All of the shades are day (or night) appropriate (exception the middle glitter shade) u can get a lot of miles out of this palette.

If you are after heavily pigmented shadows, look away. You are better off heading in the direction of Urban Decay or Inglot instead.
However, if you are looking for beautifully blendable eyeshadows with medium-to-heavy but not over the top neutral eyeshadows, this may just be the one for you.
I’m no professional makeup artist, and I still struggle to blend eyeshadow and even apply the correct colours wherever they need to be, but I never have any trouble when using the Lolita palette as I’m never at risk of over-applying, unlike when dealing with heavily pigmented eyeshadows.
I do quite like the middle shade – the one with lots of glitter. What I do is dab it onto my eyelids with my finger – there’s less fallout this way, and great to give your eyes a little more bling for evenings out.
My only gripe? The clasp holding the palette close gave way… For no reason at all. One day my palette just decided not to close properly and upon closer inspection, the clasp had given way. 🙁
But I still love this palette, and have been using this quite a bit as it’s just so easy and effortless to pull a daytime neutral look with these shades.

I’ve just tried them today, and as someone said before, I think they look lovely on me too! 🙂 The mattes are a little bit chalky, but it’s not a major problem for me…the shimmery one in the middle had major fallouts, but the other ones comoensate those flaws: buttery, easy to blend, huge color payoff and excelent lasting power! I got this on sale for almost half the price, so I can’t actually complain!

I look great with these shadows on 🙂 Haven’t made much of a dent in the glittery middle shadow but used all others with great results.

This product was such a disappointment. I’ve always lusted after this palette since Marc Jacobs launched his makeup line. Reviews were a bit lackluster so it took me a while to take the plunge and I kinda regret paying so much for this. I was always tempted to buy this because of the super sleek packaging and the combination of pretty and neutral shades.
Packaging is truly super beautiful hands down but the quality of these shadows is not at par with the premium price. There is no crease/blending color. The second shade from the left is a soft brown shade but it is too light to be used for crease/blending. The dark brown shade beside it is too dark for those purposes also. Then the last two shades in the right look a bit similar on.
The overall look I got from this eyeshadow was still nice but I guess I was bit underwhelmed with it. I even had a even better experience with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette compared to this.

I got the tease in this palette, but there was no reviews started for it. This palette would be perfect if it came with a brush, but it does not. The colors are pretty much perfect and you can create all kinds of looks. I think the tease, having so many purple colors is perfect for dark brown eyes but is not as gothic as the vamp.
The first two colors are a purple and then the three in the middle are all lighter colors, the second last color is a bright purple and the last color is dark purple with glitter. It’s a really sleek palette and has matte and glitter colors. The color is really nice and pigmented, and I don’t use primer. I am not sure how long this palette will last, I think it would be perfect tough if it has a brush like the naked palette does, unfortunately, it does not and came with a little eye shadow applicator inside a marc jacobs pouch to store the palette in.

I really like this palette. I took one lippie off because the middle shade has major glitter fallout issues and that is a huge makeup pet peeve of mine. Other than that, it is lovely. Although these shadows are not the most pigmented out there, they have a lovely texture and are very buildable. This has become a go-to palette for everyday looks that I wear to work. I like to create a very basic look with the three matte shades and then layer the shimmers over top to create different effects. I especially enjoy the texture of the shimmers. They really adhere to the skin nicely to create a smooth, glossy look. The only shade I don’t use on a regular basis is the middle one because it’s too sparkly for everyday and has to be used over a base to make the glitter stick. I don’t notice any fallout from the other shades. I apply the matte shades with a brush and then pat the shimmers on with my finger. That seems to keep fallout at bay.
Is it worth the price? Of course not. I view a product like this as a luxury item. Something I buy to pamper myself and make myself feel good. It’s not really about value for me.

I love neutral palettes. Browns are the only colors that look good on my eyelids, not even something universal like champagne.
and of course I fell for this palette when Marc Jacobs came out with his collection
The packaging is very pretty, the best I’ve seen in palettes (maybe except Burberry). but the product itself doesn’t measure up to the name, price and packaging. its at most “mid end” quality. To touch, its not chalky or overly powdery, but its not buttery smooth and/or pigmented.
The best way to apply this is using fingers. otherwise it takes a few swipe and effort with a brush.. (I use Mac, Chanel, and Hourglass brushes)
The closest quality I can find in Sephora is Bobbi Brown palettes, but one of the “worse” ones with less pigmentation and more chalkiness.
I personally don’t think its worth the cost if you only consider the quality of the palette.
but the combination of colors are great. The colors aren’t too warm or cool, and would go well with any skintones. Packaging is also very nice, and does feel luxurious to have.
so its really personal preference.
I personally like something that has better quality – shadows that is easier to pigment, blends better, and feels soft and smooth to touch..

I saw this at Sephora and fell in love! The packaging is sleek, feels good in my hands and the colors, in the palette, looked very wearable. I went ahead and purchased and have owned the palette for about 5 months now, I really wanted to love it but I just don’t think that the quality lives up to the price tag or the hype. The three matte shadows are nicely pigmented but are a bit on the dry/powdery side, making them harder to blend. The middle shade is very sheer and glittery and the fallout when applying is horrendous. The remaining shadows are shimmery but they apply and blend much better than the matte shades. I tried numerous looks and every time I found that the outcome was very muddy looking. This one was a real disappointment and I had planned to purchase other palettes in different shades but don’t plan to waste any more money on MJ eyeshadows.
