Finally after reading many reviews of this fragrance, I got a chance to try this at Kohl’s. To my nose it’s a strong, headache inducing “perfumey” citrusy floral. I don’t think it smells like lemon or meringue. The plumeria, passionflower and freesia mid notes and the cedar, amber and musk base notes dominate this fragrance, and whatever lemon might initially be in the top notes is lost. You find this at some Kohl’s locations for $48.

I love this scent!! Honestly, I really did not need another perfume, but Kohl’s and their tester bottles have sold more perfume to me than I will probably need for the next 10 years, lol.. Anyhoo, this to me just smells like Spring/Summer. Yes, there is the light lemon scent that hits you, but it is subtle. Not a Pledge furniture lemon scent, but a nice buttery, milky, lemon curd type of scent.
Initially when I tested it, I had no idea the name of it, I just saw DKNY. But I figured it would be a spring/fresh/light/possibly citrus type of scent, and to me that is exactly what it is. In my opinion, it is not an obvious ‘food’ scent like some of the Bath & Body Works sprays, but is much more sophisticated imho.
Also, I like the shape of the bottle, it is kind of cute and fun to use and sprays nicely and fits in the hand nicely (when you have bad wrists, you appreciate things like that!). I also like the fact that it has no cap to take off and on all the time and you can just spray it. While I do prefer perfumes to have caps, somehow the shape/design of this just works that a cap is not needed, but it is nice to pick it up and just spray!!
I would gladly have given it 5 stars, but the wear time is not that great. And the dry down is not the same as when first applied. While I still enjoy the dry down scent and it is still subtle and is still fairly sweet with a hint of floral, I just prefer perfumes that have the same dry-down scent as when they are first applied, and for the price tag, while not obscenely expensive, it is still pricey enough that I feel it should ‘perform’ better. Also, I get maybe 3 hours, tops, and then it dries down to a very barely there scent. And for me to spray again after 3 or so hours, I feel it would begin to smell different due to the dry down scent being different. Also I am not a fan of the bottle design itself. While it feels comfortable in the hands and is easy to spray (my bad wrists appreciate those aspects), but to me, for a more pricey perfume/fragrance, the design of this bottle is kind of cheap and tacky looking. Not something I would look at and think was a more pricey fragrance.
STILL, all things considered, this is a lovely scent and I am glad I bought it and looking back yes, I would buy it again. I find the scent to be different and while there are tons of sweet and fruit and citrus scents out there, I feel like this one is ‘different’ and sophisticated and more ‘womanly’, whereas some of the others I feel are more for young girls. I am 45 years old and while I do love a fruit scent, I do not want to smell like fruit or too sugary/obnoxiously overbearingly sweet. This is just ‘sweet enough’ and even feels ‘grown up’ and sophisticated. To me, many sweet scents just smell too young for me, many sweet scents to me feel like they are best for tweens and teens.
I think this is in particular, great for daytime, or Spring and Summer, although many wear any type scent any time of day or year, anymore.

Finally got a chance to test this one after hunting for a tester forever!! It is only available right now at Kohl’s, is one of three limited edition Sweet Delicious 2012 scents. Not sure why Kohl’s is the one who brought them back, but there you go. They never have testers of all 3 at the same time, by the way, and they won’t make any new ones, even if you ask.
The first spritz is a bright creamy lemon…it’s sweet but tart and lemony–foody lemon, not pledgey lemon. I never get a milky note in it at all, which is sad because I was hoping for a rich dessert-like fragrance. I should know better by now that DKNY doesn’t really DO dessert very well. To me, this is not a true gourmand. It DOES smell vaguely edible, but all throughout the drydown I kept getting the impression of smarties or sweet tarts, not lemon meringue.
I love all the notes in this and was pretty disappointed that it wasn’t a creamier fragrance, especially for the $48 price tag at Kohl’s. I will not pay $48 for what smells like a teenybopper body spray.
Points for sillage and longevity. One spray lasted 5+ hours, with moderate sillage.
…if only it hadn’t smelled like a very tart candy. I was craving sweet tarts all night long.
(not a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for)
