273 Rodeo Drive is a 70’s and 80’s Hollywood floral with big sillage. Tuberose, gardenia, jasmine, orange blossom, etc. — lots of white flowers, though the overall effect seems to be a warm yellow floral. Reminds me somewhat of the original Giorgio. I would not be surprised if 273 was inspired by the original Giorgio, or the other way around. A SoCal diva fragrance. If you like your florals complex and brassy, 273 is for you.

I had this perfume a few years ago, but I dd not liked it a lot.
It was so strong for me.. and I like heavy fragrances.

Over the past few weeks, I have been purchasing fragrances for purely nostalgic reasons. My recent purchases are a combination of the scents that I wore in my late twenties/early thirties, and the scents that I could not afford to purchase years ago ~ without cutting back on other important HE items such as shoes, handbags, and lipsticks.
Eighteen years ago, on my 30th birthday, two friends chipped in an bought a bottle of 273 for me. This was a great gift because, I desperately wanted this fragrance, and was so happy. I have worn this perfume on and off, and I just bought another bottle. I love the fact that outdated perfumes go down in price. It’s $29.99 today vs. $55.00 which was a lot of money 18 years ago for two struggling, low paid, assistant buyers.
This fragrance has the right amount of gardenia, along with soft amber and sandalwood. It mixes beautifully with my body chemistry and I love all of the compliments that come my way ~ especially from my DH. This fragrance still has the same smell that I remembered from years ago. I will buy this product again…

This is one of my favorite fragrances, not very many people are familiar with it, thus every time I wear it I recieve compliments from even strangers. The initial spritz is very strong but then with my chemistry it turns into something very calm and elegant. My mother used to wear this when I was a little girl in the early ’90’s and it was one of her favorites, she went through several bottles, and I was very excited to run across it the other day, it is a beautiful fragrance. This fragrance has wonderful lasting power, the pyramid bottle is symbolic of its strength. Fred Hayman a.k.a. Mr. Rodeo Drive, is a very interesting person that created, for us, and unforgettable fragrance. EDIT: This is my HG of fragrances, it is just so amazing, I went ahead and purchased a second bottle just to be sure I wouldn’t run out anytime soon.

This is a beautiful flowery scent and one of my favs. Huge lasting power and not a dry down scent so can be a little overwhelming for some. I never allow myself to fully run out of this and have been using it for years. Although this was launched in 1989 when I was just a kid it is indeed a timeless scent. I receive compliments every time I wear this to the office from men & women alike.

I puchased this mainly because I love gardenia. This is a warm, lush, full bodied floral. It’s very long lasting and intoxicating. It may be too heavy for hot summer days but perfect on a balmy night. The syrupy opening notes turned me off a bit but as it settled it turned into a very sophisticated and sexy scent. It’s similiar to Carolina Herrera.

I really like this scent. I know it’s been around for awhile and it’s very strong, but I’ve gotten compliments every time I’ve worn it. Definitely a favorite.

Wow, is this stuff heady! I would like it better, but this gives me a horrible headache. I don’t know what flower it is perhaps, tuberose? Wish I wasn’t allergic to this one.

Nice bottle, pretty scent, and good staying power but just TOO sweet on me. Not foody sweet, but floral sweet. It did not ram itself up my nose and into my brain causing that dreaded “perfume migrane”, but it was just not for me.

This product has incredible staying power! I really like the scent and wore it in high school. I later knew a much older woman who bathed herself in the stuff so now I associate it with wealthy grandmas which I’m not. Still, I can’t really knock the scent just because of its weird associations for me so I’d have to say it’s a very sexy, classy scent but a little definitely goes a long way.
