IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT I’M DOING WRONG THEN PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE THIS IS THE MOST FRUSTRATING PRODUCT TO USE EVER!!!!! I’ve done this mask 3 times and every time it dries too quickly and I’m left with jelly lumps in the bowl!!!! The first time was awful because I had no idea and I managed to do one perfect swipe of it on my chin before I went back to the bowl and the remaining mixture had solidified into a jelly lump!!! WTFFF!!! I know that’s how it works because it’s a peel off but honestly the other two times have been such a struggle too!!! You literally have about 90 seconds before it does its stupid thing and dries into a jelly paste lump. I’ve followed the instructions strictly, 75 ml water mix in quickly but add gradually. YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO BE A FREAK OF NATURE TO GET THIS ALL ON IN TIME I’M NOT EXAGGERATING!!! I don’t get how the other reviews on here have not mentioned about how little time you have to put this on?!! IT’S SO NOT RELAXING AND IT MAKES ME ANGRY OK. Now, the results of the mask are stunning though, it reduces inflammation, leaves my pores looking better, improves textural issues, it never dries me out, doesn’t break me out BUT DAMN it stresses me out!!!

This is a gorgeous mask! Has the added bonus of being available for delivery with my food shopping!! As previous reviewers have said, this could get messy but once you’ve used it a couple of times it’s really simple and one packet is plenty for two thick masks. I just empty half the powder into a plastic bowl and very slowly add cold water bit by bit, mixing it in with the spatula provided until I have a nice thick, lump free, consistency, so that it’s not going to drip once I put it on my face – so it’s important to just add a little water at a time and keep on mixing. Once I get the right consistency, like very thick custard I guess, I then apply it to my face with the spatula. It feels lovely on the skin and sets quite quickly. I leave it on for as long as I can, it starts feeling loose after a while, but I definitely leave it for 20 minutes at the very least. It peels of your face like a rubber mask (I love doing this bit :)) but you are left with some dried white residue around the edges of where the mask has been which simply rinse away with cold water. The inside of the mask, and your face, will feel damp immediately after removal, but once you rinse the aforementioned residue off your face you are left with the most beautiful smooth, baby soft, glowing skin that I have ever experienced from a mask! It’s also worth noting that, certainly for me, this is not the type of mask that bring spots to the surface, making it a fantastic mask to use before an event/occasion. I really recommend this, a great mask!

The key as other posters have said is the right consistency. Add cold water bit by bit but quickly. Keep it thick but try and stir out the lumps. The new packaging provides you with a wooden spatula which is handy.
I first used this at least ten years ago (or it feels like it!) and I think for cost reasons – it seemed a lot at the time – I stopped using it.
Just used this tonight and as soon as you apply the mask it feels lovely and cool and continues to feel cool after peeling the green latex/rubber like mask off. Quick rinse with cold water and my face feels clean wonderfully soft, blackheads gone, skin tone looks good and now half an hour after peeling I’ve got a nice warm inner glow to my skin. Love it.
No idea about the long term benefits but we know seaweed is mineral rich so I’m going to keep with this for a few months and see how it goes.

Results are great. Finding out how much product to use is a bit tricky. But when you do it’s lovely. Better than most masks I tried. Soft, clean skin. Can be messy but really worth it. Best to use bottled mineral water like Volvic or Evian in my experience as you avoid the chlorine in the tap water. Recommended. Bought it many times and will continue.

Getting the correct paste-like consistency with this mask is CRUCIAL! I mistakenly used too much water the first time round & I ended up making a mess of things, wasting some of the product & only getting half way results. I was frustrated to say the least.
This mask has great nourishing qualities but when applied too thin it’s watery on the face (with too much dripping) & actually rather drying as it sets- the face feels uncomfortably taut plus removal requires a flannel & water.
On my second application I observed that when this is mixed into the correct pastey thickness it spreads on the face easily & can easily be removed by simply peeling off. It was easier for me to do it correctly by emptying some powder into a container first & then adding water bit by bit whilst mixing thoroughly to ensure a good texture. This will leave you with a smooth, cleansed feeling face but I recommend following up with a moisturiser afterwards as this leaves face feeling firmer & is also detoxifying which takes excess oils off the skin.
If used modestly I reckon I can get about 4-5 uses out of one 25g sachet. Priced @ £3.45 I’d say thats quite reasonable

This is the HG of all face masks, and I can`t believe that this isn`t on here already. Actually, I can: it`s like the best kept beauty secret ever, and none of my friends have ever heard of it either. Until I force them to try it.
This is a UK brand, I think, and it`s in all the health food shops (I`ve looked and you can get it online too). It`s even in John Lewis, so I can`t believe nobody has tried it! It`s made of seaweed and mud, and it comes in a sachet of green powder. It`s probably tempting to get the ready made mask in the tube, but DON`T – they are not the same product at all, and the reason this is so amazing is the same reason you have to make it yourself. Something to do with the freshness of it.
You mix the powder with a bit of cool water, and you have to do it fast: in a couple of minutes. Mix it into a smooth green paste with a spatula or whatever (I use a butter knife), and then apply it to your skin in a thick layer. It dries really fast, and it dries into a rubber like consistency: thick and green and bouncy. If you wanted to use it at Halloween it would be very effective, although you can`t move your face at the same time so you`d have to be a non-speaking witch.
ANYWAY. It`s a bit of a pain mixing it, but I kid you not: this is the best face mask I have EVER used. It is literally magic. From the first second it touches your skin it feels cool and soothing – like the coolingest and soothingest it has ever felt – and when it`s on your skin tingles, but not in a painful kind of way: in a hydrating kind of way. I have SUCH sensitive skin it`s ridiculous – some foundations sting me – and I have used this on sunburn, on retin-a burn, the works, and not one ounce of sting or pain. You can put it right under your eyes, it`s that gentle.
Peeling it off is fun – it comes off as a bit thick layer – although if it gets stuck at all around the edges here`s a tip: just throw water at your face for a few seconds before you peel it off. It`ll come straight off. Yes, it`s been known to make a bit of a mess of my bathroom – my ex used to refer to it as “that green sh**” but seriously: for how good it is, it doesn`t matter in the slightest.
When you take the mask off, it`s an AAAAAH *light shining* moment. Skin is soft soft soft and totally hydrated: it feels like brand new skin. And I mean: it gets rid of ALL dryness. All of it. It also cleans deeply, severely reduces\kills pimples and evens out skin tone, and gives an AMAZING glow. If I`m going anywhere important I use this the hour beforehand and my skin problems clear up. It has saved my bacon before many dates.
Oh, and there`s enough powder in the sachet for at least two thick masks, and if you just want to do “problem areas” (like if I have a dry chin etc) then it`ll go even further. Tip: DONT GO TOO THIN. mix to paste consistency of thick, thick yoghurt, or you won`t get the hydrating qualities.
I don`t know what else to say about this mask. Yeah, it can be messy. Yeah, you have to mix quickly. Yeah, if you`re lazy like me you can end up with green bits of rubber around your sink (it doesn`t smear, though; once it`s dried it`ll come off anything. there`s no staining). But for clear, soft, bright, hydrated (and i don`t mean MOISTURIZED: i mean full of water) skin?? Totally worth it.
Once you get the hang of mixing it to the right consistency, you`ll never have to use another face mask again (now and then I use aspirin and yoghurt, if I`m very spotty or poor, but that`s it).
Plus if you want to get creative and waste product you can build it to make bit bumps and change the shape of your nose. Really funny. 🙂
The rest of the range is fine, but nothing compares to this little gem.
Enjoy!! 🙂
