I have combination/sensitive skin and tried this out after a friend told me about it. This cleanser is extremely drying. I felt my face tighten up while using this in the shower and I broke out horribly.

This is an okay product. It is pretty drying so I only use it when my skins slightly oily or I have a few blemishes. It has a great smell and feels pretty great initially on the skin. I would definitely follow up with a good moisturizer afterwards.

I bought this product a little while ago because many beauty guru’s rave on the great effect green tea has on your skin so I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve been using this product for about two weeks now, once or twice a day as directed on the bottle and my break outs have decreased immensely, but it is very drying. My skin got so dry around my chin and my cheeks (the areas of my face where I break out most) and my skin got all scaly and flaky around this area. I reduced my uses after that and would use it once every other day or when I want to clean off makeup residue. My skin is a combination of oily T-zone and dry basically everywhere else and it took a while to restore my skin from the dryness and I found only tropical coconut oil could restore it. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who has severe acne because it does burn slightly when on slightly too long and it just dries skin too much. I’d rather recommend just basic green tea bags, soaking them in warm water and dabbing on affected areas for about 5-10 minutes. I’ve been doing this on the days that I don’t use the face wash and found it to be much more helpful than the cleanser itself.

I agree with the last reviewer. the only thing good about this is the friendly price.
This is one of the extremely few cleansers I threw away after a few washes cause it dried out my face so bad it was flaking.
One of my worst purchases ever.

The only thing that was good about this product was the price!
It dried my skin out A LOT! Even using an intense, heavy moisturizer every day my skin is still disgustingly dry but only in certain areas – on my nose (around my nostrils….) and around pimples. it all looks awful!
Its weird bc the rest of my skin is normal. i guess the pimple dryness is its way of attacking the pimples and attempting to get rid of them, but it does nothing to clear them up and only makes my skin look worse.
Dont buy this!

I’ve been using this product for sometime. I use it about 2 to 3 times a week as an exfoliant. I absolutely love this product. The exfoliators inside are very fine and it doesn’t leave you feeling like you’re scraping skin off when you wash with it like some exfoliators do. My skin always feels so soft, and fresh and is always glowy after using this. I currently use cetaphils gentle cleanser and use a light moisturizer. I have classic combination skin, some days its oilier and some days drier but generally i have a oily tzone. i am sensative from time to time and certain cleansers cause redness and burning, but not with this. I don’t have acne, but I do get breakouts and occasional horminal pimples. when that happens I’ll use this product once a day for several days in a row and I find that not only does it exfoliate wonderfully but my pimples do shrink quite a bit. I absolutely love this product and i am on my 4th bottle. I will definitely continue to purchase.

this is a good basic cleanser for acne
BUT
when i switched to a more gentle cleanser like cetaphil i realized just how much this cleanser really dries your skin. It not like oh wow flaky skin central but you definitely need a moisturizer after this cleanser. lasts a fairly decent time (around 7 months), especially since i bought it on sale for $4 AU at priceline. I used it on my back as well as it foams really well but yeah didn’t see much of a difference.
good to keep in your cupboard if you have a blemished area which you feel needs to be washed with salicylic acid, but overall just an average cleanser.

This is another drugstore find at SGD 10.80 offering 2% salicylic acid. At first glance I thought that this was a really affordable find. Although it has green tea and olive extracts, it has ‘Menthyl lactate’ – a type of menthol salt. I mentioned in my previous post Clear Skin : It All Starts With The Cleanse, how menthol is quite a skin irritant for many people. I am one of those people and when I used other products with menthol I found that it broke me out. It’s an unnecessary ingredient that really irritates the skin. So for this reason, I would give this a pass.
I can only see this working if your skin is tolerant to the menthol. If so, this would be a lovely product.

I absolutely love this product! I have oily skin that tends to break out mostly around the nose and forehead, and this cleanser improved my skin in a big way! Since I first started to use it, I could already see my pimples getting smaller and it also helped balancing my skin’s oil production. Although, I really wouldn’t recommend this product to women with dry skin, because it would probably dry it out.

Average acne cleanser. It didn’t really help clear up my skin. It didn’t cause break-outs or excessive dryness either. It smells very nice, foams up and cleansed well too. I’d recommend this for those with mild acne or anyone who is looking to keep their already-clear skin from breaking out. I won’t be repurchasing.
