After a recent haul I”m happy to say I’ve ended up loving everything including this brush. I had intended only to buy some foundation and needed to get matched, the MUA at MAC applied studio sculpt with this brush and I was smitten. I typically don’t like foundation brushes at all. I’ve tired duo fiber, and traditional brushes and didn’t care for either. This brush rocks, even with a thicker cream formulation like studio sculpt, this brush blends the foundation in beautifully. No streaks, no cakiness, no patchiness. Just smooth, even, flawless foundation.

I’ve never really been a huge fan of paying crazy prices for makeup like Mac. I was just browsing on the website and seen this Oval 6 brush. I was super curious because it reminds me of the Artis brushes but cheaper in price. I decided to take the plunge and purchase this brush, I’m so glad I did. I love how this applies my foundation and concealer. It makes my face look so polished and nice, no streaks. Online it says you can basically use this brush for all of your face products, I prefer to just use it just for the 2. It’s such a soft brush. I think it’s a good investment especially if you’re interested in the Artis brushes. I put I wouldn’t repurchase because it’s a makeup brush so I can’t see me needing to buy another one.

Love it! I can’t purchase Artis brushes in any stores where I live, and can’t get them online without paying ridiculous postage and currency conversion fees, so MAC it is. And I’m not disappointed at all. I use a stick foundation, applying the product to the bristles and then buffing the product onto my skin. The brush gives such an even application of product, I’m really impressed. I also find that the brush does a great job of applying product evenly but lightly, and if I need more coverage, I just go over the area again with more product on the brush. There are occasions I’ll even use the brush to blend up to three different foundation colors for highlight, contour, etc., and the brush does an excellent job of blending with no visible demarcation- just a smooth transition of seamless shading that looks and wears very naturally. As a reviewer mentioned below, the neck of the brush is a bit skinny (and plastic), so I’d recommend not applying too much force to the brush- lightly does the job just fine. I’m really liking this brush and would repurchase (although I hope I won’t have to :).

This was a great brush during the six months it lasted. Then it broke. I called up the pro store and they said it was no problem to return it and I got my money back.
Great brush, poor design. The handle is so thin and fragile near the brush head, that it will break after frequent use.
As an alternative, I recommend the Mule Artist Curve Brush, available on eBay. I think the design is even better than the oval 6. The handle is sturdier and the brush head is slimmer, allowing it to get in tight spaces like around the nose.

First of all, I want to say that I tried posting this review on the MAC website 3 times, and it was never posted. They must monitor their reviews like crazy and only allow a limited number of “bad” reviews on their website. I am usually very happy with everything I buy from MAC, but I want people to know the truth about this product. On with the review…
This brush was amazing until the curve part of handle broke/snapped during application and ended up cutting my face from the exposed plastic. I had used this brush for less than 3 months to apply my studio fix fluid. Loved the finish it gave me! I took very good care of my oval 6, and only washed it twice. After it broke, I went in to the MAC store thinking I would be offered a replacement, but the SA said it was past their 30-day return policy. What a waste of money! This brush is not cheap by any means and should last for years. I would not recommend the brush until MAC makes a sturdier a handle. Too bad since it blended beautifully.
I gave this an extra lippie just because I liked the way it made my foundation look.
