I’ve grown tired of palettes lately – between the recycled matte/nude/rose gold shades and the over-hyped collabs, most palettes are overpriced and underwhelming. That said, I still had an overwhelming desire to find a palette that would really catch my eye (not to mention I had 3X points on every purchase at ULTA). UD was out b/c I have 4 and and the last few are all the same, and I wasn’t impressed by IT Cosmetics shadows. I’ve been looking for a one & done palette. My bestie loves tarte and I had some experience with the brand, but not much. I figured why not? So, off I went and spent 3 weeks debating between this and the Rainforest After Dark palette (which I plan on procuring as well). I opted for Showstopper simply because I wasn’t too keen on the darker shades in Rainforest (I’ve since changed my mind). This is, by far, the BEST palette I’ve ever purchased – better than all of the UD Naked palettes I own, for sure. Every single item is wearable – for work, for a night out, for whatever! I love the shadows – there is only one true matte shade but even the shimmer shades are not glitter bombs. They are finely milled and the shimmer is very subtle. Each shade is complimentary to my neutral, medium skin tone and I love the fact that the blush is matte. The highlighter is subtle but still gorgeous and perfect for all the high points of the face. The palette is great for travel and the mirror is the perfect size. I am so glad I purchased this palette and look forward to owning the Rainforest palette.

A little while ago I purged a bunch of my palettes as I didn’t reach for them regularly; plus in the majority of the 9+ pan palettes I had there was at least one shade that I’d only wear a few times a year when I was feeling unusually daring, and then at least one more pan of product that I never got around to using. The Showstopper palette survived the great purge because all of the shades are very easy to wear and is the sort of shade that I’ll wear regularly – the shades are tame enough for more sedate daytime looks, but are also easy to dress up for evening/me-time too.
You get a medium matte bronzer, a warm peach (looks corally on my skin) blush, a pink-toned champagne highlight, and six eyeshadows. The bronzer (Tarte’s well-known Park Avenue Princess) and ‘Fame’ blush are highly pigmented, but tapping excess of the brush softens them enough for me to be able to wear them on my fair skin. I love the highlight; it adds a lovely glisten, but it isn’t overly shimmery like other Tarte highlights I’ve tried – in fact out of the half dozen or so I’ve tried, this is my favourite. The eyeshadows lean on the neutral/warm side – but they are a sepia warm rather then a full-on toasty warm, so work nicely for me and my neutral/cool skintone. The shadows are mainly shades of taupe with metallic undertones, like copper and rose gold, to brighten my face; Showstopper Copper (bronze copper), Go for the Gold (gold), You’re a Natural (nude), Steel The Scene (steel taupe), Rose to the Top (rose gold), and Dim the Lights (black brown).
I’ve found some of the shadows in most of the other Tarte palettes I’ve owned a bit hit or miss in terms of quality, but everything in the Showstopper palette is very good; easy to blend & build up with little to no fallout, no heavy shimmer/glitter that doesn’t adhere to skin and goes everywhere, plus everything is crease/fade resistant.
My only niggle is that [like most Tarte palettes] the shade names of the products are printed on a clear plastic insert that slips and slides everywhere so I lose it – or throw it away – rather than on the actual palette. This niggle doesn’t effect the actual products in any way so I’m not going to remove a lippie, but it’s something that winds me up because I like to know exactly what I’m wearing. The last Tarte palette I bought [Swamp Queen] has the shade names printed on the actual palette, so I know that Tarte can do it, but I don’t know why they don’t do it all the time…

Wow – this palette really packs a punch, totally blown away with the quality and usability of this precious, lil purple disc.
As my makeup hoarding days have come to a most unpleasant end, I have come to the point where I refuse to buy or keep a palette when there is one thing I know I won’t use or won’t work for my skin tone. I know, extreme but I am so tired of owning palettes that I use only half of the shadows and that is pretty much every darn one. Well this little gem caught my eye because its truly all in one. The neutral shadows appealed to me, honestly the blush was the only thing I felt was out of place – but more on that later.
The shadows are amazing texture and quality. No fallout, great pigmentation. I do feel they are all warm with the exception of maybe 2 of them. So if you are cool-toned, would say to proceed with caution as I feel this palette is very warm. However, for me that is right up my alley. What I freaking love about the shadows is that they allow you to create a multitude of looks, finally someone thought to have more than one logical lid shade when they created this. And the 3 colors (sorry already lost my stupid plastic insert) but I will describe, the rose gold, taupey brown and goldish shade can be worn alone. The dark brown is amazing!! I don’t even need to bring liner with me on trips, I just use this to line my upper and lower lash line.
The bronzer and highlight are just as amazing and definitely give you that multi-tasking type ability (if you watch emilynoel I feel like I am channeling her right now). I love the bronzer in my crease. I love the highlighter in my inner corner or even in the center of the lid over any of the eyeshadows colors to give myself an extra pop. The highlight is pretty awesome, and I am not a fan of highlighting typically. Leaves a beautiful sheen vs sparkle and its not super intense so it won’t look like you dipped your face in glitter- cause lets be honest, that’s not a good look for anyone. 🙂
The blush…I know “the blush.” Anyone look at this and think the Tarte person who put this together was smoking something when they selected the blush color? I know I did. Why can’t it be pink (ala Exposed) I whined. Well give it a chance, I never, EVER would have picked this blush and I wear it every darn day. It just works, I don’t know what else to say. Its super pigmented, so be warned. If you like looking like Krusty the Klown, be easy with that blush brush when you apply.
I bought this on a whim for travel, tired of bring multiple compacts but I find myself using this for work pretty much everyday because its all there, definitely a plus for us lazies out there. And an added bonus I really didn’t think about, because its one stop shopping. I use it and put it away. Do your significant others ever gripe because of all the shiz you leave on your bathroom counter after your done getting ready?? I know mine sure does, bless his heart. With this I not only get a beautiful makeup look, but I also have eliminated very annoying nagging in my life. SCORE!!
So definitely check this out folks, I think Tarte did a faboosh job putting this together, perfect color choices and definitely high quality of products.

LOVE.
Rose to the Top is an ultimate everyday shadow that I love. I also really enjoy the Showstopper Copper and You’re the Natural- both make lovely shades on their own but are also excellent for blending into the crease. The matte shade (You’re the Natural) is particularly lovely, it’s a slightly orangey, mostly nude brown that is unique in my collection. The rest are lovely, but I already own them in one variation or another. The eyeshadows are all buttery, soft- SO SOFT, I’m used to UD shadows now which don’t have the velvety texture of Tarte’s Showstopper.
I’m a sucker for highlight, and Tarte’s Champagne Pink was surprisingly very natural on my fair skin – most highlights I own are very in your face so having this in my collection is a nice change of pace. The bronzer included is also very natural and light. I prefer darker bronzers for contouring, but I appreciate using Park Ave Princess and have been reaching for it daily. Not a fan of the blush. I use it a lot because it’s already packaged with the rest, but the blush doesn’t compare in my opinion.

The colors in this palette are about a shade and a half darker than they appear in the photo on Tarte’s website. The eyeshadows are also more brown and less purple/mauve, making it a neutral palette. I’ve read that some people consider the eyeshadows to be cool, but I’ve used all of the colors and I would classify them as warm.
These powders are excellent. They are ground extremely fine and highly pigmented. This makes them versatile because I can use them in many ways. I can apply barely a dusting for a very light, natural look, or I can apply them much more heavily for a more dramatic look, without either one looking like I’ve under or over-applied makeup. My only complaint about the eyeshadows is that some of the colors are quite similar, and I’d have liked slightly more differentiation between the colors.
The blush is awesome. The contour is the perfect color for actually using as contour, and can also be used as an eyeshadow.
The highlighter is excellent for the cheeks, chin, and forehead because it illuminates without being necessarily light or sparkly. It fails, however, as an eye highlighter because it lacks intensity and coverage. Therefore, you cannot use this to highlight the brow-bone or inner eye; that is the only thing this palette lacks.

LOVE: Wonderful packaging, good amount of product, great powder quality, good pigmentation, best sellers in one compact palette
HATE: pricey, labels placed on the plastic cover and not on the palette

One stop shop! Il start by saying that this is actually a one of a kind palette- it’s got a bronzer, blush and a selection in shadows! This means when I travel or stay at a friends I don’t have to take a shopping bag of separately packaged products to do up my face! WINNING!! This was the only one on the market I could find with everything and a huge plus is the packaging its sturdy and practical ( no flimsy plastic fold out makeup books with the crap foam applicators)
The powders are of amazing quality
They glide on – blend out
Lasts on oily skin
Not chalky
Flattering colours to warm skin tones
Great everyday palette
🙂 happy customer

I don’t even know where to begin. This is by FAR my favorite palette I’ve ever used. I had the Tarte Rising Star palette before and I liked it okay (the eyeshadow choices weren’t great) but I loved the bronzer/contour and highlight shades and the convenience of having everything together so I decided to try this palette and MAN OH MAN am I glad I did!!! First of all, it has a FULL size amazonian clay blush in a gorgeous, universally-flattering shade, a bronzer/contour and a highlight, and 6 beautiful neutral – but still VERY impactful – eyeshadows that can be used to create a million different looks! I try different combinations all the time and they ALWAYS look amazing! I was a little worried because there was only one true matte shadow and I’m not always a huge fan of shimmer, but it’s not obnoxious at all – just reflects the perfect amount of light to be GORGEOUS day or night! The only thing I don’t personally love about it is that the highlight shade has a pretty significant pink tone to it and I have really olive undertones, therefore it can sometimes stand out a bit too much for me (the highlight shade in the Rising Start palette had more golden undertones). But that’s just me personally because of my complexion, and it’s still really pretty. The bronzer/contour shade is possibly my favorite part. It goes on completely matte and is more of a subtle taupe color than most contouring shades, so it never comes out looking orange or too cakey. Considering that the blush in this palette costs almost the same price by itself and everything is beautiful and SO convenient… I would say it is an amazing deal! Worth EVERY single cent!

I love this palette. I debated for several months and finally bought it at Ulta. The pigment is so good on it all. Love the full size blush. Love the neutral colors. Love that it is heavy duty enough to travel with. Love the big mirror. Great value and great quality.

First up, I love this palette. The shades are all flattering for day or night and they last really well (a blush that lasts a working day on me was previously unheard of – sweaty face issues). Also this palette is so cute, the mirror is great and it’s very travel friendly – brill for those of us who do our makeup on the bus. (sacrilege I know)
The colours are pretty standard neutrals (it’s tarte guys), but great for a range of looks. Only two small downsides, why is the blush warmish when the eyeshadows are cool? It doesn’t look too bad on the face (probs not even noticeable to anyone else who looks at you) just would make more sense to have a cooler blush in it. Also the lightest eyeshadow is a matte brown and it would be good to have a lighter shadow for the inner eye other than just the highlight which is hella sparkly.
The only reason I said I wouldn’t buy it again is cos 1. I bought this in the USA and we don’t have Tarte in England, 2. I’m a makeup floozie and I never stick to one thing cos I always think the grass is greener somewhere else.
