The full name for this product is “Age is Only a Number Elixir” and Vasanti says this is “a facial oil and powerful serum in one”. I’ve got so many facial oils and serum-y type products that it’s a shame I only have one face to use ’em on but I’m still always up for trying something new. I love the products I do have from Vasanti and I’m always happy to support a Canadian skin care/makeup brand. “Age is Just a Number” sells for $62 in Canada, I believe, but I was able to get it for 20% off on Seniors Day (every Thursday) at SDM. You get a fair bit of product for the price, compared with a lot of other brands like Lancome, Sunday Riley, etc. This is a lovely product with lovely packaging….a solid, hefty black/grey ombre’d glass bottle with a pipette/plunger type dropper so it’s really precise and hygienic. The product itself is great. As suggested, I use 2 drops in the daytime and 3 at night, before my moisturizer. I’d been using this for a week or two, however, when I happened to turn over the bottle and found a sticker there that said “Shake well before using”. This is nowhere else on the packaging, instructions or even on their website instructions. How many people think to look on the BOTTOM of a bottle for further instructions? I sure don’t! And I’ve contacted them about this oversight…they need to improve their instructions if this is so vital. I do love what this does for my skin. I apply it over slightly damp skin right after cleansing and even the 2 drops I use in the day spread out beautifully and this doesn’t leave a greasy feel or interfere with makeup application. I find my skin looks calmer and somewhat plumper and this is having a beneficial effect on my pores as well. I only wish I knew how to use this in combination with my AHA creams but I’m not at all sure how to create a routine that would work using this and an AHA and a day/night cream all at the same time so I alternate at night between this and my Alpha Hydrox 12% AHA Souffle Cream.

AUGH, Vasanti, why u do this?!
Straight up, this is the best serum I’ve ever used. Fine lines around my eyes and lips? Gone. Reactions or breakouts? None. Blows Vichy and Lise Watier out of the water, and is giving Prevage a run for its money.
However, the price. Oh, the price. Edited to add: I’d previously noted disappointment that my bottle upon purchase was only half full; however, upon repurchase, the new one was absolutely full — my first one must have been an anomaly. Whew!
$62Cdn/oz. It’s really not much more than Vichy Idealia serum, and significantly less than Watier’s Sublimessence. With a budding company who is still trying to get a real branded foothold in the industry, I’d like to see a slightly more competitive price.
Pros: Does exactly what it promises. Firms, hydrates, reduces lines, rejuvenates. 10/10.
Cons: Price a bit high for a newish company.
I’ll grudgingly repurchase because it’s awesome — maybe twice a year. If it were only slightly more price competitive I’d use it every day though. However, if price is not a concern it’s a must-try.
