I bought this at my local Costco for around $20. The Perfect Palette I have is the “anniversary edition” – slightly revamped. There is a mirror in the lid instead of instructions, and the eye pencil is caviar black, not brown. The palette is made in USA, which is a bonus for me personally. The palette’s construction is reminiscent of Stila palettes – sturdy cardboard with a magnetic closure. The shades vary from a matte pale beige & cream, shimmery pale pink & champagne, gold, bronze, rose gold, taupe, to charcoal & matte black. There’s a good balance of mattes & shimmers. The shadows are soft & creamy with nice (but not overwhelming) pigment. Not at all chalky. Fallout is minimal, definitely less than Urban Decay. I would say these are on par with MAC or Julie Hewett shadows. I wear all of my shadows over MAC Painterly paint pot, and these last throughout a full workday with no fading or creasing. The liner pencil is buttery soft & incredibly pigmented. Overall, this is a very nice palette for the price range. I would definitely repurchase it and would recommend to anyone looking for a neutral palette in a decent price range.

There is wasteful and excessive packaging for this set. I suppose Costco requires this for their warehouse sale. As for the products, I was pleasantly surprised by the eye shadow quality– smooth with good pigment deposition. Weaker were the lip glosses and eyeliner. Both were too weak. I don’t want buildable color. One coat should do it. I think all the colors are useful, except one pan that is too light for blush and too dark for highlighter. I paid less than $10 on clearance, so no complaints on price.

I picked one up for my daughter at Costco for $17.99. She really liked it, and I loved the colors, so I bought one for myself. The cardboard palette contains 12 eyeshadows (5 mattes and 7 shimmers) and comes with a dark brown, self-sharpening eye liner. There’s a tutorial for a natural eye on the inside cover of the palette itself, and a smoky eye tutorial on the back of the Coscto blisterpak. The eye liner is fantastic, maybe the best I’ve used. The matte shadows are gorgeous, soft and easy to work with. The shimmers are lovely, but far too sparkly for my taste. Debating whether to keep for the mattes alone, or to pass it to my other daughter…without the liner, of course – I’m keeping it no matter what!
